» "Doesn't It Just Burn?" Speculation & SPOILERS

What's strange is that RTD references Romana when he's talking about Christina and it's been reported earlier on that she's supposed to have a big connection to The Doctor.

Hrrrm...weren't folks talking about "Gate" being one of those cryptic semi-Arc Words for these remaining specials? And the last TV-canon episode we saw Romana was "Warrior's Gate".

She might not be a Time Lord, but she might be a developed time sensitive at least.

He's back and he's blond. That should make him more attractive to The Doctor then.

Um, yes. If you need me I'll just be over there flailing a little too much.

Oh, and by the way,

That should make him more attractive to The Doctor then.

Catherine Tate has been spotted filming today and given that we definitely know that Bernard Cribbins and John Simm are back, I can't wait.

Also new RT is out tomorrow so some spoilers might surface there as well.

I'm ridiculously excited by all this and live in a household of people who don't want to be spoiled. Going to end up biting my tongue straight through.

I saw the picture of him but am still reading that this isn't really Simm (looks like him to me but wishful thinking could be at work). Is there any other confirmation that he's been on set?

There was some confusion between him and a blonde crew member but that was cleared up right away. The consensus I've seen is that the photo in question is definitely of Simm. In my own opinion I saw the photo and immediately knew it was him. Gut feeling as a fan, I'm very sure. But I'm sure we'll have more confirmation as filming continues. Nothing for now because all shooting was indoors and they were going out of their way to hide the identities of several actors.

On BBC breakfast this morning RTD said that Bernard Cribbins (Wilf) is the companion for the final 2 specials. Also the 2nd special is going to be on Novemberish (his words), wonder if its tied to children in need in some way.

Although we suspected it it's good to hear official confirmation on that.

Hmm, not much earlier than Christmas then. I was hoping for no later than Halloween.

According to a blurb in TVGuide the next special (the November one) is called "The Waters of Mars".

Hope he gets a ride in the TARDIS then!

It sure looks angsty in the Noble household. And, from what I can tell from the shots of CT acting, it looks like Mindwipe!Donna rather than Companion!Donna will be starring.

I guess we also have to resign ourselves to the probability that Companion!Donna won't be returning or at least not for long seeing as Moffat's auditioning prospective tweenage companions to go alongside his adolescent Eleven.

Has there been any word on the possible return of Captain Jack and the Torchwood team? I hope not. RTD's already given himself enough to work on with it being DT's finale AND the Master's rebirth AND having to write all those persistent Companions satisfying whilst suitably dramatic endings.

I'd just as soon Jack were held back until Moff was in charge. If nothing else, for the commentaries... ;)

I can't mind MemoryWipe Donna will be there for the duration of the finale.

It seems that along with Verity Newman's A Journal Of Impossible Things book, a character called Joshua Naismith (David Harewood) has a book called Fighting The Future which also threatens the Doctor.
