The upcoming new drama about super-humans has been given the green-light, and has the potential to be the new "Lost".

Link for lots of cool info here.

The two things that struck me?
I just finished reading a first draft of the script for Heroes, NBC's fall pilot about everyday folks blessed with superpowers, and, well, to answer the question I posed in the title, yes, I believe a new Lost-like phenomenon is about to be born.

And, two of my TV favorites are attached to it: Greg Grunberg and Milo Ventimigila!

The pilot has been given the greenlight, but no news on the series until the upfronts in May/June. Right?

This show sounds REALLY good and it have some of my favorite actors. Oh, God I haven't been this excited for an NBC pilot in years, I hope the networks pick it up in may.

Yes. I don't see why many people have started topics about pilots that may not even get a series pick-up. If I'm not going to be able to see it, I don't care about it.

Should this be in the sci-fi thread?

I was interested at first but that TV Guide article has actually turned me off. Anything being compared to Lost just about guarantees I won't be watching. Why would I want tp subject myself to a meandering, nonsensical, un-punctuated narrative with no idea where it's going?

I read the sides and it felt more than a little forced and incoherent.

The casting is good though. Hayden Pannettiere (or however you spell that) really is a great little actress.

Wasn't sure, so I orginally put it in the "Where does this show go?" section, and it ended up here, courtesty of TPTB.

It seems pretty definite that this show will get a pick-up, from all I've read. GG already defected from the JJ Abrams show that he was supposed to be in to do thos. (The JJ Abrams show is dead, as far as I can tell.)

For those who haven't read the link I posted, check it out. Just from the descriptions of the characters alone, I'm intrigued. (Seems like this could be a mix of "Rising Stars" and "The Incredibles".)

The whole thing sounds like an amalgamation of Lost and Unbreakable. I agree with xtremesage: my interest in this show vanes every time I find out something new about it.

Is there anywhere on the internet where you can read the script?

Unfortunately, not that I know of.

The cast looks pretty good although it really just appears to be a rip off of loads of different things. Notably a comic series by Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straszynsci called Rising Stars, with elements of the 4400, Lost, Unbreakable and loads of other things.

It sounds like more of a rip-off of the the 4400 than anything else. Or Mutant X which was based on X-Men that was basically X-Men like characters who don't wear customes. I'll probably end up watching it anyway.

Yeah, I got the "Rising Stars" link, too.
But I think this show has the potential to detach itself from that link, and stand on it's own.
It's defintiely one of the shows I'm most looking forward to in the fall season.

I'm still looking for drafts of the script: if I find one, I'll post the link for y'all.

I'm so excited about this. It'll be great to see Milo in a regular role again.

May I ask where?
I've had zero luck.

And yes, it will be great to see both MV and GG on my TV screen again.
