And usuallly I like/am neutral about gwen Stefani. But now she's swimming around and whispering about being "all over her', and I am required to HATE her. HATE. That commercial makes me want to hold her under the water for an additional 10 minutes. I want you GONE, gwen.

But she wants you all over her! Which...ick. My mind goes there and I can't help myself and then I have to take a shower and scrub the dirty off of me which takes hours.

Since there have been eleventy billion perfume ads on TV today, I've noticed a common theme. At the end of a lot of them, it advertises Dillard's.

What's that? Is it like a Macy's, or a Target?

Mojoween, Dillard's is a department store chain owned by Satan. They pay their employees little, but expect them to generate 15x their hourly rate in sales or they're canned like creamed corn.

In grad school I worked for a department store that had been locally owned for generations, and was a joy to work for. They were great to their employees and while yes, we had to make our quotas, if you didn't they patiently worked with you to help you improve your techniques. Then they got bought by...them, and it all changed. It was awful. I felt for the people for whom this was their main job/career.

But I'm not bitter or anything!

In all the malls in my area Dillard's replaced Hecht's, which replaced Leggett's/Belk.

I have a confession to make: I like the gingerbread donuts at Dunkin' Donuts. But it's not because of Rachael Ray. I'm considering giving up gingerbread altogether* just because she annoys the hell out of me.

What is it with Dunkin' Donuts hiring the most annoying people on the planet to shill their products? I live in Rhode Island, so you'd be hard-pressed not to see a Dunkin' Donuts somewhere here, which means the ads are in constant rotation. Right now it's Rachael Ray, who I absolutely cannot stand. Back at the beginning of football season, it was Chris Berman. I'd go into Dunkin' Donuts and his picture would be in there, because that's totally what I want to see when I'm hungry. [gags]

* May not be true.

I've been watching Run's House on MTV2 for the last week or so, and I think I've seen enough Bod body spray commercials to last me a lifetime. Seriously. During a commercial break, there's at least three of those black and white commercials with shirtless dudes running around on a football field (or racing up bleachers) with the lyrics, "Hot bod, B-O-D for me, check out that bod, I want your bod," playing over and over. Enough. We get it.

Not only are the commercials annoying, but the product is awful. Nothing can suffocate you faster (except maybe a pillow and a really angry person) than someone wearing too much Bod (or Axe) body spray. And hey, at least Axe shoves a lot of half-naked women into their commercials.

And what makes it worse (the first time I saw this, I thought it was a mistake, but I've seen it again since) there are 2 15 second ads that run back to back-------and then they run them AGAIN! So you've got a sixty second spot made up of 15 second ads that repeat!

Who in the hell is Tony Sinclair?

I get so damned tired of him and that crappy accent.

Another series of commercials I absolutely loathe are the ones that feature Jared, "the galleria of jewelry." What a bunch of mercenary pinheads...he went to Jared...he went to Jared.

Beyonce is getting as ubiquitous--and by that, I mean annoying--as Cuba Gooding, Jr. and Michael Jordan in those Hanes ads.

Before answering your question,

Who in the hell is Tony Sinclair?

karmakat, I must warn you that "Ask and Ye Shall Receive" might not be what you hoped for. According to Wikipedia and IMDB(take it as you may), Sinclair is the fictional alter ego of Rodney Mason, a Philadelphia-born actor known for voice over, stand-up and one-man shows. If that's TMI, I do apologize.

I almost died when I saw that same commercial on Telemundo, translated for the "cuerpo guapo" buyers out there.

I worked in Dillard's in the women's department for a short stint in between jobs about 20 years ago. What I remember most was how they used to "encourage" us to wear heels while forbidding us to sit down all day long. I never considered whether I was bitter, but maybe I am subconsciously because to this day I still avoid shopping in Dillards.

I'm with you on the Beyonce ads but I'm really sick of the Cuba Gooding Jr. ads. I don't know who thought it would be cute to have him act out his man crush on MJ. He just comes off as emasculated.

Who is that guy on those stupid Mac vs PC commercials telling me how great Mac computers are? I'm so sick of seeing his face & hearing his voice. He also needs a haircut, a shave, & some brain cells. I will never ever buy a Mac because of him. I still don't see what is so special about a Mac. Its just a regular mundane computer.

Frankly, I wish that Tina Fey would just shut up about how great AMEX is to her. Its very annoying. Why does she need an AMEX card anyway?

her Triscuit (or Wheat Thins?) commercial where she's wearing the fugly beige dress seems to be in constant rotation.

If Project Runway had a challenge involving the creation of a dress that made you look 20 pounds heavier, that beige buckled thing Rachel Ray wears would be the winning design. Who allowed her to do a commercial looking like that?

My best Christmas present this year is that I haven't seen the singing Febreeze sisters lately. I guess they replaced it with the guy eating the gingerbread house in front of the TV and "decorating" by spraying Febreeze. It is by far a much more tolerable commercial.

The current commercial I can't stand is the woman with the slice of bread in search of a spread for it, but nothing on this continent will suffice, so while holding the bread, she runs, motorbikes, swims across an ocean, etc. only to end up in Italy where they are serving the new I Can't Believe It's Not Butter with olive oil mixed in. What makes me gag is the insane amount of spread she plops on the sad piece of bread and then she actually eats it! The realist in me also considers the dirt, bugs, and bird poop that has collected on the bread throughout her journey.
