HURRAH!! I'm having a great summer but I'm almost hoping for it to go by quickly so I can see a new Amazing Race. Does anyone know if Dec. 6 is the final episode for sure? I want to get TARCON 15 on my calendar as soon as possible.

Info on a finale date typically won't be released and confirmed until midway through the season. For Tarcon purposes, I would plan for both Dec 6 and Dec 13 (maybe even Nov 29) and then cancel out the day (or days) that the finale won't fall on upon confirmation.

That was only my guess, nothing confirmed. It's based on an estimate of the number of episodes, and the fact that Survivor usually finishes the Sunday after TAR. I would agree that it could be the week before or the week after.

The more I think about it, I'm leaning towards it probably being the first 2 legs; 2 one hour episodes, rather than a 2 hour first leg a la seasons 6-9.

I am thinking that TPTB probably planned another 12 leg/episode season like s14, with a premiere date of 9/20, when the Emmy's were originally scheduled for 9/13, but when that got pushed back, it may have been too late to change the race course, so they had to throw in an extra episode somewhere. Just conjecture of course; I would absolutely love a true 2 hour premiere.

The evening of the 27th is indeed Erev Yom Kippur.

CBS has originally announced the Emmys for the 20th, but then moved it to the 13th, and then moved it back a few weeks later.

It's quite possible that TPTB haven't actually begun filming TAR 15 yet (or at least I haven't seen or heard of any spoilers to suggest that), so it is quite possible the filming plans may have been adjusted to fit whatever schedule CBS has settled on. Once in a whie CBS does change their plans so that TAR has to fabricate a two-hour episode, or something happens on the Race (All-Stars two-hour episode in Africa and Poland due to the 24 hour team spread) that requires it, but I've had the impression for some years now that normally BVM and company know before they start filming how many episodes and when they'll air, and fir the Race course to meet those plans.

Heads up, Aussies. TAR14 starts next Thursday at 7:30, on the ever-punctual, never-treating-disability-as-a-ratings-gimmick Seven Network. (Now, to get Nein to start showing Survivor again.)

I find it very interesting that there apparently are no spoilers yet. The race has to be underway, probably for at least a week, or they won't be able to make the airdate. A few years ago Survivor was heavily spoiled, but recently they have tightened it up. TAR 11 had the complete boot list before it aired, but it seems TPTB have been able to keep things fairly under wraps in the past few seasons. I think they may be planning the race to certain locations that limit spoilers and putting the clamps on staff so nothing leaks out.

Keep in mind that TAR only requires about 21 days to film, when early seasons of TAR were 28 to 33 days, and at least 13 episodes.

BVM's post- filming crews have been known to have a very fast turn-around (TAR 2 in particular) so a filming start in August is not out of the question since the premiere won't be until the end of September.

Phil is in L.A., at least he was yesterday. A facebook friend of mine posted he saw him & hugged him last night. I assume this means they're not currently taping season 15.

That's extremely interesting. Theschnauzers is correct that since TAR10, filming has taken about three weeks, but they always have taken about two months since the end of filming before airdate. I also see that they are now holding auditions for TAR16 in August.

I guess having shorter races, in number of episodes and shooting schedule, is one way to keep costs down.

They are also not filming in HD, which would be great given the scenery, etc.

Didn't pay attention to which thread the above poster was using, so I've movef my post to the correct thread.
