I want to see an Alexis vs Ivanka face off. No matter what the competition is.

So, Martha was at the Ferry Building buying cheese from our shop last week. Tomorrow -- when I'm working for the first time in weeks -- Alexis will be around filming something. Should I send her our love?

Wow, did you get to see/meet her, keckler? And yes, you should definitely send Alexis our best. :D

No, sadly, I wasn't working when Martha herself was there.

Dawna has risen from her coffin to appear on Martha's talk show again. She will be on the show tomorrow in a filmed piece about home renovation.

I liked Dawna, but I can't believe she still has that long hair.

Apprentice wannabe Leslie Sanchez turned up this evening on, of all places, PBS's Newshour with Jim Lehrer, talking about the immigrant boycotts today; there's a transcript and audio of some sort here.

I hate Trump. Martha's show may have been mediocre, but it should've gotten a second season. Burnett screwed her by not letting her cast, NBC screwed her by dumping the show in the Lost slot, and I think Trump stepped up the firings in order to get his finale on television before Martha.

Actually, Trump's version was filmed before Martha's version was two years ago (Trump's I believe was filmed April 4-May 21, 2005, Martha's from about that point-June 30, 2005). Although Trump could not have planned it that way, I do think two tasks on Martha's version (Buick Lucerne and Song Airlines) were originally supposed to be on Trump's version and had to be moved to Martha's version at the last minute (as I felt Trump's version had to be shortened by two episodes because NBC had to push the planned premiere date of Trump's version back just before filming was to start on that version).

As for Martha's version, that got ambushed by ABC first doing Lost specials that hurt both Martha's version and E-Ring, and with "E-Ring" being NBC's biggest new fall show, NBC panicked and switched it and Martha's version to get "E-Ring" away from "Lost", not realizing that ratings turned out to be in a massive free-fall all over the place (not just on NBC, but on other networks as well), with ratings continuing a plunge that since the end of the 2003-'04 TV season has seen ratings drop 15-30% overall and 30-50% on NBC. Had NBC realized this, I suspect they would have brought back Martha's version, something I would have done anyway as a summer series.

I wonder, given Burnett does still produce Martha's daytime show, if NBC did decide to bring The Apprentice back after all and Mr. Trump really didn't want to do a seventh season, would he ask Martha if she wanted to try her hand at it again, but this time with her having complete control over how it would be done?

If anyone is nostalgic for the old days of Martha's Apprentice, Alexis will be on Martha's talk show today, with her radio show partner.

Interesting article on what Bethenny is doing on the New York Racing Association website:

Bethenny is currently filming a new reality series on Bravo called Manhattan Moms (she isn't married and is the only one on the show who isn't a mother), which follows her and others around New York (this is considered to be a New York version of The Real Housewives of Orange County), and they were filming at Aqueduct (for those who don't know, in the Ozone Park section of Queens near JFK Airport) as Bethenny was celebrating her 36th birthday there a couple of weeks ago.

Another intersting tidbit on Bethenny: In addition to her being the daughter of Hall of Fame thoroughbred horse trainer Bobby Frankel, she is also the stepdaughter of another longtime trainer in New York, John Parisella.

Well that is interesting. I almost forgot about this wreck of a show.

In case any of you Bethenny fans haven't seen the 10,000 commercials on Bravo for the new show, Bethenny is one of five "Real Housewives of New York". She's...not a housewife, nor a mom, so I don't really know how she qualifies, but I'll be watching. (At least the first episode.) :)

I was reading some political commentary on CNN about Latino voters. I recognized the woman doing the commentary, but couldn't remember where. Then I read the name. Leslie Sanchez. She was the contestant with the placid grin who sat and made lengthy plans while the editors showed the clock racing by. I think she was fired on the car task.

I saw Leslie on CNN not that long ago, though what she said was not exactly memorable.

As for Bethenny, I saw her debut on The Real Housewives of New York City Tuesday night (actually early Wednesday) on Bravo (first airing: usually 10:00 PM Eastern Time with many additional airings during the week), and I made my comments about that in the thread for that show.
