» 2006 Rose Bowl Parade

I hope this is the right place!!
Teri Hatcher may be worse than Katie Couric. An hour in and I am already so sick of hearing about Teri and her daughter. No matter what is passing by on the parade route, there is a way to link it to Teri or her daughter Emerson. She may be making me crankier than Katie - and I've seen less of her!
That is all.

I heard nothing about that, because I watched this commercial free Tribune feed on the local WB station.

I didn't pay much attention, except for the marching band version of Chris Brown's "Run It!". That was pretty cool.

Another great place to watch the Rose Parade is on HGTV (House and Garden). They have people who really know their flowers and allow me to avoid all the celebrity crap that the networks generally shoehorn in to the exclusion of the parade.

The fact that it was pouring was just sad.

Amen, becca656! HGTV is the only place I've watched the Parade for the last four years. If I wanted to see celebrities, I'd watch AN ACTUAL SHOW. The rain was a bummer, but the floats were amazing, as always.

The new rose varieties showed were beautiful, but sadly their names are already lost to me. Oh well, I wouldn't do well with a rose garden anyway...

I thought HGTV sucked. One guy really didn't talk and that one lady sounded like she didn't know what she was talking about and sometimes had idiotic comments. About an hour after the parade ended, I noticed that the Travel Channel was showing the KTLA version with Bob, Stephanie and Michaela. They are informative, show close ups of the floats and the cameras weren't covered with rain spots. Since their booth is located across the Norton Simon Museum, I get to see what color roses the rose on the museum is covered in.

I watched both the HGTV coverage and the Travel Channel coverage. (I liked that the Travel Channel played the KTLA coverage later in the morning, for those who slept in)

Both are cheesy, both had their awkward moments, and the commentators for both were annoying at times. But I don't mind that stuff. It's a parade; it is what it is. I just like to watch it.

Stephanie Edwards in the bleechers is just wrong.
