"Don't defend the shoe"! A Sharpie moustache on Wendy's kid's picture! Woo! If you haven't already read Miss Alli's recap, go do that now.

Kara Saun's was just gorgeous and very much wearable for anyone. She deserved that win.

I actually liked Austin's paunch. That was the only thing practicle. I liked Jay's too.

Robert's? Well, I liked the pants, but that's it. Wendy's? Eh, no.

I don't remove pockets from my pants and I personally have never heard of any woman who does.

I believe Wendy was the picture vandal. So many reasons. 1) It fits beautifully with her 'strategy' - At the point the incident occured, Wendy was universally despised by the other designers as well as the viewing audience. An underhanded ploy to garner sympathy seems right up her alley. 2) She had the best opportunity since it was at her desk. 3) One straight line on the picture? I don't know about anyone else but when I doodle on a picture there's going to be a beard, bushy eyebrows and blacked out teeth at the minimum. 4) The 'quinticential' photo of my kid, I travel with it and I don't keep a back up negative or get it on disk? Lame.

That brings up an interesting point, pistalrose. I never thought of it before, but maybe it was just an accident? Those Sharpies bleed through paper like crazy; maybe the photo was lying on the work table and just found itself under the wrong sheet of paper at the wrong time. Might even have been Wendy herself who did it, although I doubt she deliberately sabotaged it. I agree that it's foolish to have a favorite photo that you carry around everywhere but you don't have a negative or a scan of it somewhere, but as much as I dislike her, she did seem genuinely broken up about it.

Also, as much as I dislike Wendy -- her daughter is damn cute, and that is a very sweet picture of her.

This is also the episode where we get a glimpse of Wendy's inspiration for Nancy O'Hell's dress right? As they are leaving the fabric store there is a dress that looks remarkably similiar to the one Wendy "designed".

I actually really liked Robio's design and I think what freaked out the USPS judge was the lack of a bra on his model.

But honest to god, this episode showcased the WORST of Pepper for me; that "uniform" was appalling. And her assertion that the USPS wouldn't be open to "change" was pointless--her task was to create a new uniform—not to make the existing one even uglier than it was before.

You bet. You can clearly see the dress on a form when the group is leaving the store and getting into the freight elevator. I can't wait to get my DVD and zoom in on that to see just how much Pepper copied from it.

God. I hate Wendy. [/McCarrollism]

Plus the fact that "Designer" Wendy didn't even recognize that the uniform she was wearing were culottes! She said she changed the pleats because she didn't like the pleats in the front (which made her uniform shorts look like a skirt a fact she was totally oblivious.) Doh!

I do think it was funny that the Post Office gave Wendy the "old" lady style of uniform. Where the culottes were shorts, but give women the modest look of a skirt... LOL!

The huge logo on the back of Jay's sweater rocked my socks. If USPS picked up that outfit I would fill out an ap just to get one.

A quote from a Fall 2005 Pink Magazine interview with Kevin Johnn:

"When asked about the infamous incident involving Pepper's daughter's photo being defaced, Johnn simply explains, with a devilish grin, that he has an affinity for drawing mustaches."

I will now participate in a devilish grin. Join, won't you?

Bwaaaah!! Miss Alli was right! And Kevin John is awesome.

That seems very Kevin to cop to it later and act sort of mischievous about it, whereas at the reunion show he totally got flustered when they all accused him and denied it vehemently.

I'm sorry, he creeps me out with his googly weird eyes, and I just never liked him on the show. Some of his clothes were pretty nice though.

From the recap:
Because normally, her daughter doesn't have a moustache.

BWAH!

On a down note, the recap reminded me how much I hated The Pepper. Even more than the finale of Celebrity Poker Showdown that just aired. <shudder>

I didn't like him either. Then again, I don't like people who mumble all the time. Half of the time I needed closed captioning to see what he said.

I also find him to be creepy. Word to the recap that talked about how he could probably talk 16 year olds into calling him 'Papa.' Skeevy.

And because I think he's skeevy, it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't do it, but is letting people think he did because the Pepper Hate Train is a pretty comfy place to be where people get applauded for mustachio-ing quitessential pictures of children.

But if he did do it, he might go up a notch in my estimation. From skeevy to icky.

This episode has by far the most comic relief for our designers! All I have to do is picture Austin in the knee socks and hat...and Jay's humorous quips...and the postal workers trying to keep the designers on task.
And Pepper's nasty un-design. *shudder* i wish she would have gone away sooner.
