The Rogers family is from Shreveport, Louisiana. This team of Southerners consists of Denny, 46, his wife Renee, 42, and their two children, Brittney, 22, a former Miss Louisiana, and her younger brother Brock, 19.

This could be interesting. Weve all seen those 20/20 (whoops! is that ABC?) exposees on Psycho Pagent Moms. Will this mom require her lovely daughter to go out with full makeup and hairdo in place? Will this team be weighed down by tons of hair and makeup? Will they form a fast and firm alliance with Team Pert on the basis of understanding hair care better than any other team in the race?

I say we take bets on who breaks out faster thanks to racing + beauty contestant makeup = bad skin equation.

Im not on with this team at all.

I've had another look at all the team photos, and Brock looks a lot like my long-haired layabout eldest son. Except my long-haired layabout eldest son is a lot fatter than Brock. How much help would my L-HLES be to the rest of his family on TAR? Not very much. Therefore I don't have high hopes of Brock helping his family very much.

I have a lot of hate for them, mostly because of the daughter. She has that "aren't I so beautiful" look, when IMO she really ain't all that. "Let me thrust out my breasts in the most advantageous way possible!" The mother looks like the "aging starlet" who is brought in in a vain attempt to save a primetime soap a la Linda Gray or Victoria Principal. The son looks like the stupidest contestant ever, like he's already stoned.

My pre-hate for this team knows no bounds. I would love for them to surprise me, but from the look on the L-HLES's (tm Emeraldfire) face that ain't gonna happen.

Yesterday on the noon GSN shwoing of JEopardy, there was a Brittney Rogers on. It was a college tournament, but I can't remember what shcool she went to. However, nothing about our beauty queen mentions a Jeopardy appearance.

Pre-hate because of the girls, but the dad looks nice enough (although nice doesn't exactly help in the race), and I think Brock is cute. *hides*

Believe it or not, this family is my favorite going into this season. Home state contestants (and Shreveport isn't that far from where I am), they seem athletic (at least the kids do, anyway), and I have a great feeling that they will get along really well (however shallow the circumstances may be).

Plus, Brock is REALLY hot.

I want them in the final three, and I think they will rise to the occasion once they get there. But, they fall just short of the cash.

Because Brittney was in a pageant (Miss Louisiana in Miss USA), I say this is a final three team. In the three TARs I've seen (5 to 7), pageant contestants have combined for two third-place finishes (5's Nicole and 7's Kelly) and one runner-up (5's Christie).
Of course, no pageant contestant has won a TAR yet and I don't see Brittney and her brood winning this one either.
But I think they'll finish third.

My hopes for safety go out to the Rogers and Schroeder families.

BTW, were there any pageant contestants in TARs 1-4?

Well, as a former beauty queen, I say "you go girl!" No one knows how hard it is to race when your clothes are glued to your butt, your breasts are taped together, and you *sniff* have to borrow lipstick from [sobbing] total strangers! [/sobbing]
