» Lost Online: Virtual Clues or just more confusion?

I thought you should all know that stegbreak couldn't break open the stenography on the banner photo, which means that it probably does not have a dictionary-guessable password. I've tried the obvious ones: the boy, other man, ethan rom, emjoysvetlnana, oceanic, walt, dawson, etc. Any other suggestions?

The new lost email newsletter was emailed today. Text pasted below:
Dear Frequent Flyer -

Greeting from the writers' room of Lost!

Even though production has only just begun on the sandy shores of O'ahu (as well as the lush jungles of O'ahu, and the mysterious soundstages of O'ahu), the writers' room has been working overtime for several months to turn the overarching visions of the show's creators into episodic teleplays.

The writers' room is one of the main hubs of creative activity on Lost. To anyone on the outside it probably looks like an ordinary conference room, albeit one festooned with white boards and memorabilia.

One wall, for example is decorated with head shots of the cast. Another features the "Lost Survivors Count" where we keep a running track of the characters who have died on the series. Others are decorated with maps and posters of islands and beaches to keep us in the tropical mood (not a lot of white sand and clear water in sunny downtown Burbank -- but then again, not a lot of invisible monsters either).

But the nexus of the writers' room are the four massive white boards that span the length of the space. On these boards, we plot out not only the broad strokes of the entire year, but also the individual episodes, down to acts, scenes and beats, in an exhaustive process designed to bring the best out of every idea.

Several scripts have already been completed and are in the pre-production process, with many more in the pipeline. To give you a taste, here is an exclusive glance at the titles and writers of our first three episodes:

Episode One:
"Man of Science, Man of Faith" written by Damon Lindelof

Episode Two:
"Adrift" written by Steven Maeda & Leonard Dick

Episode Three:
"Orientation" written by Javier Grillo-Marxuach & Craig Wright
- and this is only the beginning!

Thanks for getting Lost with us!

I didn't get the e-mail. Weird.
But who cares what the titles are? The Lost Newsletter is a waste of my time...

MsDiana - The third time I tried it, I got Claire's ticket. The only thing of note, to me at least, was that it was a "phone/mail order."

The ticket shows a Burbank-Phoenix-Newark leg in addition to the SYD-LAX flight.
The Burbank airport is only a skip away from LAX, and some real-life Burbank-to-Newark flights stopover at Phoenix.
The Newark airport - code EWR - is a major entry port into New York and is very close to the Statue of Liberty.

So we have Claire's ticket and the drawings, presumably done by Michael, of the Statue of Liberty and the tugboat with the letters NY near what looks very much like the Brooklyn Bridge, also very close to the Statue of Liberty. (also the tugboat resembles the one that took Walt)
Imo, the statue itself has no importance other than to reinforce the NY link of the 2 drawings and Claire's ticket.

Notable too by their absence on the ticket are the date, flight no., and seat no.
No reason I can think of to exlude these unless the whole story of the flight(s) has not yet been revealed....

So, I went and did A Google search for NSS.

I got this.

And that lead to this.

Interesting, no?

The Channel 4 site? Is really freaking me out. After several screens. there's quite a bit of business with Jack's dad that has him looking like something out of Donnie Darko, and it's got the creepiest vibe ever.

Also, there appear to be updates on the way, based on a backward counting timer that appears over some of Jack's medical files et all when the white stone is clicked on.

Creepiest. Vibe. Ever.
Frankly, I think it is a better site than the Oceanic Air one.
BTW: I think the countdown clock might be for when Channel 4 starts airing season one (or have they already?)...

Who does the Channel 4 site? People directly related to JJ and crew or is it people more on the channel's side. If it's the latter, can they be the show runners? That was .... wow. I can't wait for 1 day, 14 hours.

Dude, that channel 4 website is fucking scary! I am such a punk. I had to turn off the volume after a few pages out of fear that some more random noises were going to blast out of my laptop speakers and scare the piss out of me!

How come we didn't get a cool site like that here in America before the first season began? Maybe we will get one right around the time Season 2 starts.

Me too! I don't trust any websites after clicking on Locke's seat on Oceanic-air.com. That Channel 4 site is Cree. Pee. I think I'm just gonna have to wait until tomorrow morning to really check it out and spare myself sleeping with the light on tonight.

Nope, first two eps were shown last night (Wednesday) over here so it's not for the launch.

Pretty impressed with the "Untold" portion of Four's site - they had me at the black and white stones. Don't think I've seen a complete list of all the survivor's names anywhere else for that matter. Somebody with the surname Yorick? Alas, I think he's a goner. Can't access the site just now but Yorick would've make a very apt last name for Scott/Steve. "I knew him well", indeed.

Whoa, Channel 4 site is creeping me the hell out! "48 are left here. Undetermined"?? Holy creepy countdown.

Now THAT is how a website should be done, bravo!
