Did my husband and I imagine this or did we see that Jamie had become a judge on a Trial by Jury episode?

I'm very sorry to see Annie Parisse go. I thought she gave a strong performance in the role and had an appealing screen presence.

The character of Borgia as a whole did fall short, but that was the writer's failing. Had Borgia's persona been as clearly delineated as Kincaid, Ross, or Carmichael, I think Parisse would have been more than capable of making something great out of it.

It's also kind of depressing to me that we only had a season and a half of Borgia, after having to endure so many endless years of Serena -- a complete and catastrophic failure on every level, from the acting and the writing all the way down to the horrifying wardrobe.

Bring back Angie Harmon! Bring back Angie Harmon!

Doesn't she have a new show coming on this fall on CBS?

I agree with the arguement of not bringing in a male ADA. I am a said male and even though I wouldn't exactly require it... I have fell into a pattern of seeing a female ADA.

I feel a little embaressed in saying this but I think I need that female presence on the show.

Does anyone else think they may bring in a male ADA, and replace Fontana or Green with a sexy young woman?

I think that they might just "expand" the cast by maybe having two assistants for McCoy or maybe another pair of cops, kind of like a SVU thing.

merlynn: You and your husband are not dreaming. Jamie was on 2 TBJ shows (she's now a judge), once, in a lunch discussion with Candice Bergen (they were discussing a sleazy defense att'y), and later, we see her presiding overa trial where a chap who murdered someone decided to defend himself (I think that episode was called "The Line" but I'm not absolutely sure).

The episode with Jamie presiding was called "Bang & Blame." The plot was as stupid as the title suggests.

Does anyone know why AP is leaving?

Moon Beagle:

The official word as far as I know was she wanted to leave and was not happy, but something here doesn't sound kosher in my opinion, namely because there was criticism about things as trivial as her hair for instance (which I personally found nothing wrong with).

I'm thinking Ms. Parisse was actually forced out by either Jeff Zucker (NBC-Universal President, NBC-Universal is the parent of Wolf Productions) or Kevin Reilly (NBC Entertainment head), possibly because they wanted someone known to have a fan base of 18-34 year olds in the role that in a (potentially misguided) notion such fans of would automatically come over if that happened.

Well, then. If we are to believe that they're pulling in another female, how about making it interesting and getting a Pakistani tv actress. One who has done a lot of English plays would be Feryal Gohar Shah. Atiqua Uodo would be another good choice.

Wolf is never going to give up on those terrorism episodes, so it would be interesting to see how the new ADA who has roots from the Middle East deals with these issues.

A recent "Ask Ausiello" at tvguide.com had this:

Question: Any idea why Annie Parisse is leaving Law & Order? — Matt

Ausiello: Wasn't it because she was a lesbian? Oh, wait, I'm mixing up my ADAs. I hear Ms. Parisse was let go because she wasn't [rhymes with shuckable] enough. Lordy, I love this business.
This among other questions/answers led to the final one:
Question: I'm an aspiring TV critic/reporter; I don't know if I'll reach your level of success, but do you have any advice to help me make it in the business? — LJ

Ausiello: I'm not the best advice-giver, but if this week's AA has taught me anything, it's A) you can never underestimate the importance of being [rhymes with shuckable], B) suppress your uniqueness or a former Law & Order producer will come in and do it for you, and C) when forced to choose between quality or shlock, always side with shlock. Follow these three principles and you will go far.

So you mean that the Rohmbot was shuckable, but Parisse wasn't? Hmph. Guys must not have very good taste anymore.

For what it is worth, I found Parisse far more shuckable than the Rohmbot, who lowers the temerature in the room 15 degrees by merely entering.
