» How Do I Look?

I enjoy watching the show, but I am getting tired of Finola. They need to get rid of her, and put Nole in her spot instead.

Alex ended up looking just beautiful when they got done with her, although she had a lot to work with in the beginning.

Off topic for a second, I seriously want to know what qualifies someone to be called a "professional stylist"? The ones I've seen on TV are all the worst dressers ever!!! Take Carson Kressley, I think he is the WORST DRESSED man I've ever seen. His hair is limp and greasy, he wears the jacket that Don Johnson threw away in 1985, and he thinks that he can tell America what to wear and how to dress better? He should try to make himself over first. I mean, I'd rather take fashion advice from Linda Tripp!

From the looks of things, the only qualification a "professional stylist" really needs to have is that they have celebrity clientel, or even--in some cases on HDIL (Nole Marin, Jess Zaino, Mark Alan Harmon)--have appeared on a previous Style Network show (The Look for Less and/or Style Court).

Now, I kinda liked Jen Rade when she was on Shine's episode; but on Alex's episode...total 180--cool chick to snob. However, IMO, the worst stylist was the one with the lead singer from Teksture. Hate, hate, hate!

And yeah. More Nole, please! Total sweetie. Ditto for Mini (Minnie?), his dog.

I found Nole to be completely annoying.

Yeah, and the dog was cute, but IMO, it's very affected to drag a lapdog everywhere with you. I couldn't believe the fashion victim today, when she was crying over her hair. It looked so much better once it was shorter and a slightly darker red. I'm not one to change hair style and color frequently, but you would think that the MOs would expect a pretty big change in their hair.

I was just looking at the before and after on the style network website and the only one missing from last season was the 80's/fake hair soccer mom. She was the only one who hated the look. I wonder if she forbid them to show it.

Did anyone see tonight's episode with that girl named Kenni? I can't believe how many people who really don't particularly care about their image care if it changes. I wonder how many great looking people out there exist under bad haircuts and homely clothes.

I thought it was cool that she donated her hair to locks of love. I don't get what long, boring hair does for some people. It can be long-just highlight it or style it. Also while I am ranting, a little mascara can do wonders for some people! I am new here & LOVE you guys!

Yeah, her attitude was very puzzling. So your image is...looking like a homeless person? Her whole identity is based on her having her school name plastered all over her chest? I'm guessing she's totally given up on feeling that she's cute, so she's decided to just be the "Smart" one. But she was cute, she looked great in the end!

It makes me so sad to see these totally cute, normal-weight girls have such negative body/image issues just because they don't look like Pamela Anderson. Sigh.

She said it was school pride, too, but how does that explain universities she doesn't go to or hasn't been accepted into? SDSU, Stanford, I spotted some others. Hmmm. I've never gotten why people do that.

Oh yeah, and where are the pixie cuts? The cute short hair options? It's probably just so the flighty MO's don't get frightened away. Ah, I'm biased.

I watched briefly last night... don't recall the woman's name but she had a long crunchy (read: perm?) blonde hair, bad teeth and a negative attitude.

She ended up picking the least flattering collection presented to her. One that was cute but not flattering to her figure whatsoever.

Also, I realize that this is not in the show's budget but its very difficult to give someone a make over if their teeth are just tore up. Even Brad Pitt would look bad with yellow, gapped teeth.

Tonight, they made over a performance artist/literacy advocate. She ended up choosing the collection her boss did. One of the outfits consisted of a black strapless dress with butterflies on it plus a sequin taupe/mauve shrug. Gawd, that shrug looked hideous with the dress. I kept yelling at the TV: "That shrug looks stupid! Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!"

There was also an outfit in the first collection that I found horrid (this one done by a male friend/co-worker): a red and cream jacket with cream pants and a (yuck!) bright turquoise top. Can you say "clashing?" Absolutely vile.

Sometimes I think some of these accomplices have no sense of coordination.

Yikes, I don't mind Finola as host like some do, but some of her outfits...wow. Like with the overachieving highschooler the other day? She started out wearing a pink and red sweater with cap sleeves over a long-sleeved shirt. Which is fine. But there was a skull and crossbones in red on the front of the pink sweater. What?

Good grief, Nurit somehow managed to pick the one collection with not one good looking outfit. All three were fugly. Well, I guess given what she had been wearing before that kinda makes sense she'd pick them. Oh, well.

I thought the collection the stylist did was beautiful, except for the b/w round toed shoes with the sixties print dress.

The shrug was absolutely horrendous, you're right. I thought the dress did well to flatter her curvy shape but the shrug looked like it belonged to a completely different outfit, not to mention its tiny size made her top half look enormous. Ditto with the blue top and the grey pantsuit, they looked like they ought to've been on two different manikins.

The dress from the designer's collection wasn't anything fantastic but boy was it made something wretched with that terrible, TERRIBLE white thing. I couldn't imagine what, through the eyes of a stylist who otherwise did quite well, she saw when she completed that look.

...and the white fur shrug with the black tie. Both the shrug and the shoes totally killed the dress, I thought. Tacky, tacky, tacky. I would've paired it with a pair of turquoise shoes and a funky green handbag (IIRC, they were both colours in the dress).

Now I'm wondering if some of these people took a wrong turn at the Land of Bad Taste.
