Nielsen ratings for Exodus II:
--1.2 in households, 13th for the night
--0.8 in 18-49, 3rd for the night

Darkguardian, if you're still interested, that would likely put it into the top twenty primetime cable programs for the week in the demos (but certainly not in HH).

So does that mean the ratings went from 1.8 for the premiere to 1.6 for Exodus I to 1.2 for part II? Or am I not understanding the numbers correctly?

If that' swhat the numbers mean, I am just stumped. How can everybody not be watching this show?

Gods, I hope SciFi realizes that moving to direct competition with the networks' fall new-show schedule is killing them. Up until now, having two short summer and winter seasons assured them of audiences ready for new stuff just as the networks were going into reruns or in the case of winter, after the holidays when people were also ready for something new. The half-year hiatus doesn't help, either. I hope they back down and get some sense, and soon.

Aside from the competitive issue, which they were up against main network stuff in 2.5 as well, Skiffy were idiots for breaking up a night full of three hours of original programming and turning them into pairs with long hiatuses bookended by reruns of other network cancelled castoffs. (At least "Heroes" is an improvement to something like "Nightstalkers" or "Invasion" but come on!)

I'm still scratching my head over BSG being in the 9 o'clock hour. Hey, I can watch numbers with no guilt at ten, but BSG just seems naturally to be a 10 pm show. I'm wondering if the instant rerun means even Skiffy is questioning their asshat decision.

I wondered if BSG and/or Dr. Who would get as hosed by this decision as the two Stargates did over the summer when they were competing against ratings/critic darlings Monk and Psych (on a sister network!). Apparently I was right, and it does not make me happy.

If those numbers are correct, I'm pretty surprised. If you didn't like the New Caprica storyline, why tune out when it was obvious that this episode would be the one you were waiting for - the big rescue that gets everybody off New Caprica?

Can't imagine how much of an uproar the Skiffy board's going to be in when they get these numbers. Are we sure these are correct?

It does not make me happy, and it scares me a bit.

I mean, there is so much critical acclaim right now, and they have gone the extra step of running it on On Demand...

I'm not a TV exective so I have no idea what these numbers mean, I just know I want a season 4, and the higher the numbers the more likely that happens.

So say we all. However long it lasts, I'm sure BSG will come to a satisfying conclusion. Just not soon, please.

1.2?!? How could people watch the first few eps and then miss this one?

When do we find out if there is a season 4? Anyone remember when they renewed it last year?

Was that 1.2 for the first airing or for both combined? If not what did the immediate re airing get? Did the fact that BSG moved from 10 est to 9 est screw people up or something?

Wow, I was expecting higher ratings. But with the increasing competition in the fall... Sigh.

That was for the original airing at 9pm. I'd also say that the Stargates were a significantly stronger lead-in than Dr. Who, though I'm not aware of the ratings for that show.

ETA: The numbers are from a source at Nielsen. Friday ratings come out on Monday afternoons.

Tenblade, where are these ratings coming from? Skiffy doesn't seem to have posted them anywhere yet.

Well, as Adama said "That's it then."

If these ratings are accurate, the show is done. Hopefully RDM can gin up a series finale and not leave us hanging.

I'm trying to remain hopeful here. I am having trouble believing that number.

I really hope that it's wrong, but the ratings have been steadily declining since S2.0. For whatever reason the show we all love doesn't connect with the general public.

I wonder if the somewhat more on-the-nose depiction of NC has scared away some of the more right-wing viewers?
