» Boomer's A What?!: "The Plan" SPOILERS ONLY

If you're watching the UK airings at some point before the show airs on SciFi in the US, treat the episode threads just like the Nooner Club:

If you're watching the episodes before they air in the US, don't take over the Spoiler thread. We'll be opening the episode thread early, with "(UK)" in the airdate space. When the episode airs in the US, that date will replace it and the thread will be pinned.

If you're watching the shows on the US schedule, but are looking for episode spoilers, don't ask your UK-pace questions here -- go to the episode thread and read the discussion there.

Grace Park interview in 'Cult Times'.
Just filming scenes for 'Faith' episode eight.
'Athena and the others are on board the 'Demetrius', which we've been jokingly calling a 'shit ship', because it's an old sewage refinary ship', 'it's gritty, it's nasty, it's hot, everyone's sweaty, living in cramped quarters, and not at all happy. It's a small hand-picked crew that includes Helo, Anders and Athena as well as a couple of other familiar, as well as new characters, and they're on a mission that Admiral Adama okayed, but that has now gone on for longer than they expected'.
'In the previous episode, there are just two days left before our absolute final deadline where we have to meet back up with Galactica. Unfortunately, there is also dissension within the ranks. One of the team isn't ready to go home just yet. In fact, this individual wants to venture out further out in space and things get out of control. That's how episode seven ends, and when we come back in this one tensions are running high and the you-know-what really hits the fan. It's a great episode'

mandyanne, I'm happy to report news of Laura Roslin's early death are false. :)

From BuddyTV:
According to SyFy Portal, Terry Moore, wife of Battlestar Galactica executive producer, Ronald D. Moore, has denied rumors that Mary McDonnell's character, terminally ill former president Laura Roslin, will exit the series halfway through the coming last season. Terry Moore is a regular poster over at the SciFi Channel message boards and she promptly clarified the issue after speculations came out regarding McDonnell's premature demise on the program.

(snip)

"I just told Ron what this spoiler was, and he said the Laura spoiler is 'not true,'" Terry Moore assured. "He also said that he hasn't even told the studio what the end of the show is."

Color me relieved, as Roslin is one of my faves.

Ain't It Cool News has the following spoilers lurking in invisotext here. Very interesting information about the rest of the flashbacks. The last three flashbacks are actually scenes from Razor...this is pretty incredible considering the amazing space porn in the third flashback.

If you watched tonight’s mini-episode, you know that it gives us our first gander at the ‘70s-inspired toasters that play a key role in both next month’s “Battlestar Galactica: Razor” TV-movie and are said to play a mammoth role the fourth and final season of “Galactica” launching in April.

Notes on the next three mini-sodes:

There are seven mini-episodes in all. Five, six and seven are even cooler than four, all dealing with the mysterious edifice Young Husker Adama now finds himself in.

A bit of scoop here. Mini-episodes one through four aren’t part of the SciFi version of “Razor,” but the final three mini-episodes (starting next Friday) are actual scenes from “Razor.”

Or almost. The seventh and final mini-sode ends with a very short coda not found in the SciFi (or perhaps any) version of “Razor.” It stars the 40-years-older Edward James Olmos version of Bill Adama and it’s set very shortly before the start of Cylon War II. This final scene offers a VERY intriguing piece of information related to a major “Galactica” character.

Another 'Cult Times' interview, this time with Michael Trucco. Season 4 spoilers,.....

He becomes a viper pilot (how does he fit in the plane?)

When Starbuck returns.... " Starbuck thinks she's only been gone 6 hours, but in our world it's 2 months" "Lee grabs her first and gives her this big bear hug, and the Anders comes up to her and he's got tears of joy in his eyes. Of course Starbuck is confused and is like 'Hey, what the hell is going on?'.
The joy, however that Anders feels at having his wife back is then instantly replaced with fear. He's wondering 'Does she recognise I'm a cylon? Do I want her to recognize that? Do I want to tip her off?"
"At the same time Anders is sort of given the task by the other three,Tigh, Tori and Tyrol to pick Kara's brain for information. What does she know? What happened to her when she was gone?" ....
"Katee and I then had another great scene where Anders basically tells Starbuck, 'No matter what happened to you, no matter who you are, even if you were a cylon, I'd still love you'. Sadly her response isn't quite what he's hoping for" jokes the actor. "So their relationship has become strained to say the least, and it continues to be so throughout the early part of season four"

Avoiding specifics, I'll just say: Razor is very good moment to moment, though in some ways it undercuts the original Pegasus/Cain episodes by depicting (generally well), scenes that might have been better left to the imagination (as remembered or related by the Pegasus crew). You do get more insight into Cain, though Razor certainly doesn't excuse her you come away understanding her more clearly. A few boffo bits of fighty mcfight/special FX. Some nice TOS fanservice. Gina/Cain is handled well, I think. Definitely lays seeds for season 4 (whenever that happens). Ending is maybe a little flat. B+/A-

yep, that sums it pretty much up, however, new material after this long break was like meeting a dear old friend. Can't wait for Season 4.

Yeah, Razor was underwhelming.

Considering the whole "its a movie" promotion that was being done it was, it came across as a pretty unspectacular episode.

In my mind I expected it to be like that episode of Lost that showed the whole couple of months of the tail section survivors. Yknow like the whole BSG series from the POV of the Pegasus crew...

Instead they just went into too much detail about stuff we already knew and jumped around in time so much it made my head spin. And the little nod to Starbuck's 'destiny' at the end was just a bone for the fans.

But the Gina/Cain relationship was an interesting and fascinating surprise. Throws into a new light the torture and rape of Gina. Was it a new revelation? I can't remember any hints at it.

Well, it was inevitable.

Complete versions of Razor are now available for download on the interwebs... there are already several torrents of varying degrees of quality up.

I'm actually going to refrain from downloading it myself, but I've talked to people who have and it's the real deal. So for those who can't resist, and want to go back to the good ol' days when us Yanks were desperately downloading the first season when the Brits were months ahead of us... well, that's entirely up to you. Far be it from me to encourage such illegal activity! *halo*

Though I hope this reminds Sci-Fi that fully-produced media are REALLY hard to contain these days, and sitting on the final season is not only bone-headed from a PR standpoint, but also from a practicality standpoint.

Whoa, so that's what the aftermath of LSD feels like?! Flashbacks, flash forwards, back further, forward further, back, sideways, up, yee-ow.

Summation on Razor, having just run the screener...excellent, interesting episode, and very subtle in some of the things they do, especially with Cain. Lots of interesting hints for the final season, and something that appears to be the Cylin God...maybe...or maybe not.

Having been watching the spoilers and such over time, I was very surprised by Kendra's character arc. Very good actress, though.

Also, the those who enjoy it, some nice CGI space porn.

In a perfect world, all BSG episodes would be like Razor - long enough to get the whole story in. However, I wish they would have shown the scene where Cain emotionally "snaps", and a little less of the Kendra/Fisk/Colonial Marine Slow Motion Walk of Ill Portent.

Otherwise, well done. I'll watch this again when it is "officially" shown, and I'll have to buy the DVD so I can see the space porn in all its big-screen glory.

This has whet my appetite for Season 4. It's a long frakking time until April.

Also, gotta get in that I liked the ''RAZOR'' title at the beginning, and the weird treated 'previously on'. Then then kinda ruined it with the normal opening credits - I was expecting a special event vibe throughout.

Since what you saw is (apparently) a screener copy that was uploaded, I'm theorizing the final credit sequence may still be in production.

No, I don't think so. It was snazzy as hell... looked very much finished.

In general I'm pretty sure it was the full-on final to-be-aired version. All FX finished, sound mix perfect.

-Also, will there be any resolution to Boomer's storyline? I became quite invested in the character over the course of season one and felt very disappointed that we've only had brief glimpses of her since Downloaded. Instead of maintaining the focus on Athena (who is just not very interesting now that she and Helo are happy together, they've gotten Hera back, and she has won the friendship/acceptance/trust of Kara, Adama and others) I feel a return to Boomer's story would be much more dramatically compelling and the writers do owe us some closure there after spending so much time on her in season one.

Well, here’s another tease about Season 4: Boomer will be back, baby. Big time!

From here. And since 3 of the same gender are going to get boxed, I'm praying this means it isn't the women.
