Sandy has more Holiday cookie ideas on Food Network's website. Apparently, my browser is trying to save me from watching it. I get a big blank page.

Oh my. I clicked on bizook's link and jumped into the pool to find that the Fandras are confused: Is there mistletoe in the Mistletoe Mojitos?

Sandy has more Holiday cookie ideas on Food Network's website. "They're like beaded candies!" No, no they're not. You're an idiot. |

I posted the other day that SLop was on the 700 club. Unfortunately in the link I posted you could only watch the segment where she grilled the plastic fish. I just found the segment I saw that day with the pink holiday table and some ginormous Christmas balls.
Big surprise. We already knew she had ginormous balls to serve that dreck she calls food to people! This post has been edited by cartmann99: Dec 17, 2008 @ 7:59 am. |

Have we heard her use the term "Docking"? I seem to remember reading the snarkfest on an episode where she did use the term but used it incorrectly.

Yuppers, she was docking a cake with fauxfrosting. So the one she set on top of it wouldn't slip, IIRC.

This month's Redbook Magazine.
They did everything but flat out kiss her butt. This is a must skim in the check out line. |

I was perusing a Chicago-area foodies message board and was stunned to see one topic: Semi-Ho For a Day. It is actually quite a hoot - the discussion started out when one poster admitted to whipping up a quick pasta/veg meal from Trader Joe's products and equated it to Semi-Ho heresy, but the fun is as a variety of people serious about food either discover Aunt Sandy with disbelief or admit to their sad secret fascination. Great characterizing her:
She's an anti-teacher. Rather than demonstrating to her students that they're more capable than they think they are and helping them to fulfill their potential, she instead reinforces their fears and insecurities, telling them that they're just not good enough and the best they can hope to achieve with their limited time and skill is preprocessed Frankenstein dishes. Even funnier, one posted link reveals that Alpana Singh - the sommelier who hosts Chicago's "Check Please" - is a secret shrike! Even admitting to saving some episodes on DVR to entertain and amaze friends! |
