I knew there was a reason I resisted learning how to link things, b/c now I think I may end up going link crazy. Anyway...

Here is an article that someone linked to over in the L&O:SVU forum about public health officials working with TV to get health information right on shows and it specifically mentions the Numb3rs black market organ transplant episode:
Article

And here is a promo that someone linked to in the NCIS thread for (I think) an Australian channel that has a bunch of shows from different networks, but includes RM and DK in some cute moments:

Cheuton gave Ausiello some information on the season finale.

My guess for a main character who doesn't usually face physical danger and may be shot is Larry. Charlie's already dealt with that type of situation before. Cheuton's also mentioned that Megan will be impacted in some way that will carry through to next season. My guess is that she'll come back from her assignment already dealing with issues from that experience. Then Larry will be in whatever this physical danger is, and that will affect Megan even further. It would also be a storyline possibility if Peter is only in a certain number of episodes next year. Larry could be sent somewhere to receive treatment for his injuries.

There is a "little" spoiler info in that article. But most importantly we find out that Jeremy Sisto is going to be on an eppesode (SQUEE!!)

I watched Last Dance yesterday. This the movie with Rob Morrow and Sharon Stone, where Sharon is on Death Row and Rob is her social worker. He looked so young ... and sizzlin hot....

I'm looking forward to a new ep tonight, and hoping it has lots of blue things in it. I saw an ad that showed the beach; this will look pretty. I hope there are no red things in the ep.

The red lines on my 15+ yr old tv burnt out the other night, so now everything is blue and green. The PTB at Numb3rs love their viewers, so I'm sure they took this into account when filming this ep lo those many weeks ago.

I hope the lime green fluted bowl puts in an appearance; I suspect it will never look better than it does tonight.

Jeremy Sisto, Avon Barksdale and the return of Larry? Must be sweeps.
Larry was definitely weirder than normal, I don't exactly know what was going on with him. Was it a case of living his dream, so what now? He didn't express himself very well.
It was funny seeing Sisto so inept with a gun, a far cry from his role in Kidnapped.

Still digesting the ep but first thoughts.....

Well, that was a bit unsettling. I'm not sure I'm buying Larry's total tranformation in just 4 months. I'll try to keep an open mind but this is going to be a hard sell. And nice to see Larry so concerned about Megan. It would have been nice for the name to at least pass once through his lips/mind.

Charlie now knows more interrogation strategies than a trained FBI agent. He even gets to directly ask prisoners questions. Talented guy....

I've watched this show on and off for the past 2 years. I really liked this episode, although it was a little light on the math side so I guess it doesn't fit as much into the overall premise of the show. Now that I think about it, I agree, Don should have known how to interrogate a suspect without his little brother explaining a fairly basic model to him. Isn't that one of the things the FBI is known for, the interrogation of difficult suspects?

I guess analyzing t.v. shows isn't always a good thing as errors are bound to be revealed upon closer inspection. Anyhow, I thought the main storyline was well done for this week as a casual viewer. The Larry stuff kind of got into the way for me.

I agree about Larry. My father watched the episode as well, and he also thought that Larry was more "off" than usual. Larry's always been very eccentric, but he seemed disconnected in a very disconcerting way. Before he went into space, he always seemed to seek out solitude instead of the companionship of friends. He even slept in the steam tunnels. Then he became involved with Megan, and she was able to help him balance his brilliance with some sense of socialization. That seems to be gone now. I'm not sure that's a good thing even for the sake of scientific exploration. The goal may have been to showcase the "re-entry" issues that astronauts have, but Larry's journey has appeared to cost him even more significantly. He seems to have regressed back to socially atypical behaviors like sleeping in his car at the beach, staying in a monestary, and keeping interaction with others on the fringes of his life.

Can Jeremy Sisto please become a regular? He was awesome.

Now I'm wondering if the show is going to make Larry really damaged in some way.

::shrug:::
I thought, and posted, months ago that Larry had, imo, moved way beyond eccentric into flirting with mental illness. Frankly, his need for quiet and time for reflection, given what he's done and where he's been for the last few months. seems saner than most of his reactions and actions of late. Larry is a strange, fragile, insulated, self-absorbed guy, even when he's not been lost in space...he's not good boyfriend material for Megan, (or Charlie!) or anyone. He's just...weird. But I love having him back.

I disagree, based on the show's portrayal of Larry's love for the cosmos. I can understand how one day, let alone 4 months of being in space would completely transform him. For some people, there's nothing more beautiful than seeing the Earth caught in a sunrise from orbit. Larry's always been introspective; confronted with the totality of the planet would certainly cause him to ponder his place upon it and his human significance/insignificance. And the ability to look out a window and just see the stars, unfiltered by the atmosphere or light pollution, would be a life-changing experience for a man like Larry. I think coming back from such a prolonged dream would leave him a bit...dreamy. He's going to take some time to really wake up.

Still digesting but a couple of other thoughts....

Maybe I'm slow but I didn't really get why Larry has changed so drastically. He was acting like he was Major Tom out there--alone and abandoned. In reality, he was 1)realizing a dream 2)amongst others who were also realizing their lifelong dream 3)conducting a challenging scientific experiment 4)surrounded by some of the best and brightest scientific minds in the world also conducting interesting experiments 5)only out there for four months. His 'living in a tin can' anxiousness sounds like claustrophobia and should have been discovered and kept him off the flight. You know, I thought that his living in steam tunnels thing was a fluke. It was treated as such--Larry acted like he knew it was out there and it was merely training. Now I'm wondering if the show is going to make Larry really damaged in some way. I haven't read any spoilers, I'm just guessing, but that's what it looks like to me. Which means one of the coolest ships on tv is going to turn into some stupid hurt/comfort fanfic schlock. Or, Larry's damage turns Megan into super psychologist and she treats him instead of dates him. I don't mean to be bitter and, honestly, I am fighting to keep an open mind, but as the ep progressed and Larry kept wearing (not merely keeping it close in a pocket but wearing) that diary-on-a-string, my radar went up.

I know we talked about his mental state earlier in the season. Frankly, I just decided to react to the character like the other characters did--Larry was a loveable, loyal eccentric. His actions tonight went way beyond that and even the other characters were noticing. I fear that Larry has officially changed.

I don't think Larry is going to be permanently damaged or that Megan is going to become super psychologist. I think it's totally understandable that someone who was quirky to begin with has a comedown after they finally accomplish their lifelong dream, a dream which had also consumed months of their time with training and preparation. Even people who go through years of training and are seen as being the coolest of cucumbers can snap, like that astronaut who went after the girlfriend of her ex-boyfriend in some crazy rage. Larry just needs time to readjust.

I have always liked Jeremy Sisto since his Billy Chenoweth days, and he looked so hot and so masculine and gruff in this role, yet still quirky. He was perfect. Why does this show have to have SO many fascinating characters when most shows have none? Does anyone else wish CBS could do some kind of a spinoff with some of these supporting characters, like Jeremy, or Kathy Njimy, or Colby, or that kid Charlie works with sometimes? There's so much talent that doesn't get any real attention because the show only has so much time.

I think coming back from such a prolonged dream would leave him a bit...dreamy. He's going to take some time to really wake up.

But he wasn't dreamy, he was agitated and upset. And even though he'd been with people and got phone calls from Earth, he shunned normal human contact when he got back. Yes, seeing the cosmos up close would be life-altering but Larry's always been a poet who revels in the beauty and mystery of things seen and unseen. I expected dreamy. I expected either non-stop chatter or silent, personal musings. I just can't see how being up there and seeing what he saw would alter him to the degree it seems to. Unless he shouldn't have gone up in the first place. Him constantly wearing that diary-on-a-string is worrisome.

ETA, and if someone could explain how one could make that diary-on-a-string in zero g, I would appreciate it.....

David and Brickle were quite the funny, awkward, odd-couple team. That half-assed fist bump was hilarious. Nice turn by Sisto.

The whole "tit for tat" thing seemed kind of simple and non-scientific. And I completely forgot that the episode opened with statistics about a brain until they did the MRI thing.

I'll have to reserve judgment on Larry. I'm just glad that he in no way resembles his character on 24, whom I sort of hate and was afraid had tainted Larry for me.
