You know, I think it'd be completely within the bounds of the theme of the show for Charlie to die. A bit theme of the show is destiny, I think. And fate. So maybe they are going to go for that it was Charlie's fate to be on the island so that he could do something heroic to save Claire and everyone else. Also, this kind of reminds me of Stranger Than Fiction. At least as far as the whole having to sacrifice oneself for others.

Also, Charlie has been doing so little the past two seasons... and he didn't even really do a whole bunch the first season either. I think that it's time for his character to go.

I definitely think it’s consistent with the theme to have Charlie die. All of these characters spend most of their time until they get to the island either searching for their destiny or trying desperately to avoid it. The point is that destiny is to be embraced. We all have to die, it’s a question of when and how one dies. He’s dying clean, in love, and in self-sacrifice. If he also writes a great song, what possible death could be better?

I’m also wondering if the major character death occurs in the flashback. Maybe we are about to see how Christian dies. After all, we never did see his death. Maybe Claire is involved somehow.

Danielle could die. I know they said that MF gets a flashback next season, but that could be Alex's flashback.

For those that are interested, I've just posted a small tease video from the Season finale.

Yea, Locke is alive! I know that darkufo posted that point already, but I'm still glad to see it with my own eyes. I was about to write the show off forever, if they had killed him off!

* But, get this, another of the original regulars returns. And that regular is not listed among ABC’s cast list.

Who the HELL could this be? Got me baffled.

And I'd really like to know how Charlie can sacrifice himself in an explosion in the finale, when he sacrifices himself in 'Greater Good' by diving underwater to connect a cable.

Yeah, and how do you stop an exploding man?

Whoops, wrong show.

Maybe they get off the island, and the last season happens post-Island?

Dom talked about Charlie being tortured.
I thought there was spoilerage that indicated part of Charlie's flashbacks would be to when Ethan hung him.

I figure Walt will be back too - we've heard that he was onsite filming something.

Gives credence to the theory that everyone's rescued.

AICN 'scoop'. Doesn't really reveal anything somehow (unless it's been modified since I posted this, which has happened). Very similar to what's already been posted. I get the impression that the game-changing events may be rooted in Jack's past. Did he kill his father I wonder? Only other interesting bit really is that Christian isn't found alive on the island.

Anyone else really excited about the Hurley tidbit? It's such a waste that his character is only used as 'fat guy' comic relief every week. It's nice to see that he will be playing a major role in the finale. I hope this is something that takes his character in a more interesting direction. Everybody loves Hugo, but I wouldn't mind a dark turn for his character.

I always loved the idea that the last season(or maybe more) took place post-island and that the flashbacks became exclusively about the island, thus telling us how the hell they got off the Island. Basically, a mind-bending switcheroo.

'Game-changing' to me means something pretty drastic. The Island establishes permanent communication and even travel to and from the island. The characters are definitely all dead. The Others are aliens and are preparing for an invasion of the world. These are all off of the top of my head but frankly I don't really consider 'Annie is Kate', 'Ben dies' or 'Naomi and Penny are Dharma' to be particularly drastic. I know which set of ideas would get the more casual viewers stirring and talking, and as annoying as that is they're probably key to Lost's survival. Not that the die-hards aren't either, but while they'd appreciate a 'Locke is Jacob' type reveal, it wouldn't quite have word of mouth effect we know TPTB crave.
