I will vomit if Nathan sleeps with Taylor.

I don't know - I'm so sick of Haley right now that I'd love to see ANYTHING to split them up and either get her out of Nathan's life or off the show. As soon as I saw her in that preview with the blonde hair and the 'bling bling', I was IMMEDIATELY disgusted. This ISN'T HALEY WRITERS!!!

Oh, and as for having another shamless, intelligence-degrading promotional stunt of having viewers determine the outcome of Nathan and Taylors date is just yet ANOTHER example of MS & CO not being able to think for themselves. Of course, the lines are going to be flooded with giddy tweens screaming "Naley Forever". They probably won't even TAKE calls from us adults.

Why do I bother??

Jesus. This is just so... Dumb. How can they have Nathan act in character when people are VOTING on his actions! Jesus.

Yeah, way to go.

Seriously? This is insane. Should I be bracing myself to start hating Nathan (again)?

I would, considering the fact that I hate half the characters on the show already. What's another character at this point?

The assasination of Nathan, for me, would be the straw that breaks the camel's back. I'd almost welcome the freedom, 'cause JoA fucked with Adam and I just walked away. Nathan's the only reason I still watch this dreck, if they ruin him, I'm gone. But CtLady is probably right. The Naley fans will rise up and stop this. I'm doomed.

It's good to see that we're still on the same wavelength Cosmic Twin! :) 'Cause BIG FAT WORD. A part of me really wants them to fuck with Nathan. Then i'm gone and can stop being subjected to the ridiculous dreck that this show has become. I'd miss posting here and all but seriously. . .

I'm only doomed until the season finale - unless they fuck with Nathan - b/c I've already wasted 16? 17 hours of my life this season so what's 6 more? But after that?

This show is nothing but the WB's marketing whore now. . .so much for even a SMIDGEN of artistic integrity.

As a Naley fan, I am not going to stop it. I am just going to stop watching as I am sure many will but that isn't our fault nor is it the fault of the JLs. It lays on the hands of whoever decided to assassinate Haley's character. Its going to take a long time for her to be likeable again just like it took me a long time to appreciate Nathan, Peyton and Lucas again only in the case of Haley, her personality was just turned over completely while the other 3 were pretty flawed to begin with aside from Lucas' initial few episodes.

I think I started to like Peyton in Where I End And You Begin, and what made me like her was that we were kind of given a reason for why she was the way she was.

It's called character.

Haley doesn't have one at this point because her actions are so random. I don't even know if TPTB CAN redeem her at this point. If she randomly went back to being the old Haley it wouldn't mean anything.

I don't think its impossible for Haley to be redeemed. She did a lot of great things before she went off on a selfish tangent. There are lots of reasons as to why she did the things she did and if anyone has been listening to her dialogue, I think she got carried away with the idea that she didn't have to be senisble like she always assumed. She didn't have to be the one that people relied on. I think her sister was right when she said that Haley put too much pressure on herself and it culminated to the point where she ended up hurting the person she loved most. She has to admit though and be truly sorry for it. She herself had to put up with a lot of Nathan's crap from the past and stuff which he inflicted on her while they were initially dating. Was it as bad as fleeing her marriage? No but Haley can admit she was scared and when you are that young, you have a right to be. She did some horrible things but it wasn't out of hatred or misery, it was out of confusion and selfishness. It doesn't make her evil, it just makes her human.

I miss the Haley of old too but I don't think writing off her character will make me like the show more. If anything, it would make me like the show less and I don't think the other two girls can cut it.

From a new interview with Mark Schwahn and Danella Alonso (warning: spoilers about Anna's storyline in the interview):
Schwahn believes pick up for a third season is right around the corner. "I would be shocked if we weren’t renewed, based on the conversations I’ve had with the network and the studio, and I think they’re going to pick us up for even more episodes than the normal season, like 24 or 26," he says optimistically, then adding cautiously "but it hasn’t happened yet, so who knows."
Includes a funny comment from Schwahn about the Brooke-Peyton subtext:
Bush and Burton did raise the issue with Schwahn after the first-season finale. "I think Sophia and Hilarie were concerned that we were sort-of winking at the audience and telling a story that wasn’t there," Schwahn recounts, "and I said to them ‘Look guys, I’ll be upfront with you about whatever tales we’re telling. As far as I’m concerned, these two are best friends.’ I said, ‘You know, you’re both attractive, and when you have two attractive girls in bed together, somebody’s gonna go there.’ But right now, that’s not what I have planned for you.'

Thus the reason I'm hoping that her selfish plunge into diva-land is the writers lame way of possibly writing her off the show. I mean, if her and Nathan get divorced, what would she do - go home to where she has no parents too? (aren't they out RVing?)

This show is nothing but the WB's marketing whore now

Ah, vision of MS & Co in bondage gear with the WB bigwigs holding fat whips screaming, 'who's your daddy'?

I said it before, and I'll say it again. This show has NO identity. It lost it as soon as the tweens complained about too much basketball. So what do MS & Co do? Turn a serious DC wannabe teen drama into a campy, nightime soap worthy of Melrose Place and Dynasty standards. The bitch fights (Peyton and Nikki last season), the bitch slaps (Karen and Jules) the man fights (Keith and Dan - though I"m SO looking forward to that), getting drunk, coming out of the closet, hiding secrets, possible affairs, flirting sister-in-law in a towel, icky new guy in a towel, sex, sex, sex. Hello? Isn't this supposed to be a TEEN show?

PLEASE bring back the magic of last season. The only good thing about a possible Season 3 (shudder) is that it should make it fall of their senior year and that means b-ball season. If they completely drown out the b-ball angle, it'll be curtains for this show. As I said before, this show has NO identity - its just trying to be bits and pieces of what make other shows popular.

Thanks for the interview nwestwood . Everytime I read MS' interviews I become more and more convinced that the man is delusional. Viewers hated Anna because we associated NIKKI's 'energy' to her?! The fuck? How about b/c she was and continues to be a shoddily crafted and horribly acted character who you CRAMMED down our throats along with that idiotic useless incestuous brother of hers? Hmmm.

I would be shocked if we weren’t renewed, based on the conversations I’ve had with the network and the studio, and I think they’re going to pick us up for even more episodes than the normal season, like 24 or 26," he says optimistically, then adding cautiously "but it hasn’t happened yet, so who knows."

That's the thing about whoring out your show. 'Cause you just don't get any respect. And it's always 'what can the whore do for me' not the other way around. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the WB decided to just cast this show off with nary a thought. Funny thing about whores. . .there's always another.

Turn a serious DC wannabe teen drama into a campy, nightime soap worthy of Melrose Place and Dynasty standards.

I'm going to have to take exception to this. Dynasty (and to an extent MP) might have been campy, primetime soaps but they were, in their prime, GOOD. OTH hasn't been anywhere in the universe of 'good' for a while now.

Counse my comparison of OTH to these two shows were on a campiness level only. While I never saw Dynasty, I was a HUGE MP fan. Yes, the writing was clearly better on those two soaps. But they were ABC & FOX soaps respectively and could get away with the campy catfights, etc. The WB is mainly a teen-related show network. That crap just doesn't seem to work on this network.

Think of all the Everwood, Gilmore Girls episodes. They've steered clear of resorting to such schlock - mainly because they have exceptional writers who can deliver the goods without stooping low. Every so often, Smallville has a hokey episode or two, but then reverts back to the tight, gripping episodes.

Agreed. I love how he said they're not trying to pander to ratings even though they've so clearly spun their show towards a very specific demographic and it's a vehicle for so many marketing ploys. It's not like your supposed not pandering to ratings makes it any better the way you pander to other things.

Has anyone gotten the new US Weekly Magazine (with Jessica Simpson on the cover)?

If you're in line at the grocery store, check out page 32 - there's an (I can't believe I'm going to say this) ultra-hunky pic of CMM, shirtless and looking like the second coming of David Beckham. Its a promo pic for his upcoming movie, House of Wax

Maybe we'll get more shirtless CMM and JL scenes!

Actually, I can save you the trip to the grocery store. Shirtless Chad.

Gotta love their creative camouflaging of his infamous "CMM" tattoo. heh
