What up PHo's!!! Nice to see so many back in the STD-laden hot tub. shout-outs all around!!

Of course, I was sucked in to the marathon all weekend. It was great to relive the trashy horror that was Paradise Hotel. It's funny how much I forgot ... and how much I remembered! and the now-interviews made it all worthwhile. too much to even begin to comment on. I love that the producers basically admit that they were making shit up as they went along.

I was still hoping for the alternate Melrose Place ending, though. maybe if they convince those fools to do a PH2, I'll get my wish...

great recaps crankie.

Speaking of our much lamented PH2 - has anyone heard if this is a possibility? I realize it would be difficult to have two successful "let's just make shit up as we go along" reality/game shows but I bet Weed & Co can try. Do it for us Kent. Do it for the PHos.

It would be like trying to capture lightning in a bottle, MissAudrey.

Kent Weed already tried to recapture the magic with Forever Eden. It failed miserably. I also don't think that bringing back the original cast would work either. For one thing, everyone would be too "meta"--they'd all know who the audience considers the heroes and who the villains. And I can't imagine that some of the old contestants, like Charla or Keith, would want to be thrown back into the snakepit.

The cast of Paradise Hotel was the perfect reality show cast ever. We'll not see such a cast ever again, I think.

At the end of the final episode, Kent Weed said that they'd love to do a PH2 and asked that fans send letters to Fox requesting the show. Which begs the question... after watching all of this, how many of us actually retain the ability to put pen to paper??

I'm glad that I'm in good company. I thought I was one of a few people who got sucked into the Paradise Hotel marathon this past weekend. The interviews added in between the airing of the show was great.

OK, I totally already put this in the Big Brother thread, but:

depthfunction - first off - Omigawd, it's so good to sorta see you [/giddy sorority girl after her first beer]!!!!!!!

And, yes, there was another reality show with a great cast and a huge divide. I believe the "Friendsheep" were just as bad as the "Originals." And the Soverign 6 were just as much fun to root for as the Barbies. Alas, the Freindsheep ended up winning, but they all hate each other now, so that will suffice for closure! I fell in love with BB6 much like the way PH got me through that summer - whichever one it was; now that I have no expendable brain cells, I can't for the life of me remember. . .

So I'm watching Property Ladder on TLC right now, where they flip houses and sell them. Todays first time flipper looks to be PH's own Melanie. Did anyone else see it? I'll post screen caps as soon as I get a chance.

Screen caps are up. Nothing fantastic, just lots of boobs and mugging for the camera. There's a repeat scheduled for Oct 22 @ 4pm ET, episode "Wrong Turn Remodel", incase anyone would like to watch her learn that math is hard.

I'm pretty sure that was Melanie too. Also, one of the potential buyers was that dad from the T Mobile commercial who keeps admonishing his family for running up their cellphone bill (and meanwhile one of his sons is wearing women's clothing). It was, like, the most star-studded episode of "Property Ladder" ever!

Admittedly, I've only started to watch all of the "Flip this/that House/Property Ladder..." home resale shows within the last month, but Melanie was, by far, the most idiotic houseflipper I've ever seen on television. First off? She refused to pull permits for any of the work she did. Okay, I know that lots of people do this in the real world because the chances of being caught are slim...unless you are RENOVATING A HOUSE ON TELEVISION AND ADMITTING ON CAMERA THAT YOU ARE NOT PULLING PERMITS!!!! And yes, whoever buys the house from her can sue her retroactively. And they probably will. All they have to do is record the show and bring the tape to court.

Also, there was this weird part of the show where she "runs into" an "old friend" who, as it turns out, runs a construction company. Even though she's on a very tight deadline (she bought the place with no money down so her mortgage payments are HUGE and she needs to resell ASAP), she fires the "old friend" because he made a series of sensible suggestions that went against what she envisioned doing. Now he didn't INSIST on these suggestions, mind you, he only made them. So she fired him. Cause she couldn't deal.

I'm also thinking that something really unsavory was going on...like she was hoping he'd cut her a deal if she blew him or something. Wrong reality show, Melanie!!!

Oh, man,we have our very own PH here in Denmark at the moment. It's no way nearly as great as the original one but still pretty obsessive. I think my major complaint is too much sexand too few fights. No bug-eyes but a whole lot of hard-ons!

Being very liberal as we Danes are known for, we get a lot of talk about allkindsof sex - and it's not in Latin either! Without bleeping. It's somehow not stimulating at all but merely embarrassing to hear strange people plan oral and anal sex in the foulest of language.I can't stop thinking:"Don't these people have parents?" I mean, most of them are quite young. Now THAT must be embarrassing: "Yes, my daugther is on Paradise Hotel. She was the one who told the male model not to put his finger inside her - until she changed her mind!"

Maybe sensoring programmmes is not such a bad idea. Not because of the rolemodel thing. But because it's downright painful to watch this. I need help!

You know, for once, I'm unreasonably happy that the US version of Paradise Ho-tel did contain bleeped conversations. It was gross enough just knowing about the hookups. I so do not need/want to know the details of whatever unspeakable acts Amy the Bitchface Yippy Doggie performed on Neader-Zack. Or anyone else, for that matter.

Well, thanks. Now I've gotta go find the brain bleach.

Those are possibly the strangest Home Makeover screencaps I've ever seen. As mrjaz put it, "Why the hell would you put paint hand prints on your own boobs and your own ass?" What a weirdo.

So clearly Melanie still believes (in her, what? mid-thirties?) that she must use sex to sell.... everything.

Almost every one of those screencaps could be captioned "Check my boobs!" How very professional.

The lastest edition of Daves Newsletter, for those of you who don't receive it.

Dear Daveboston.com friends,

Hello! Hope this email find you well. We now have over 6,300 members in 21 countires around the world! I have two news items for you today:

1) For those of you who missed the US re-airing of Paradise Hotel on Fox Reality in September with "Reality Revealed" new cast interviews, it came, it aired, and it was actually pretty good. Kudos to RC Entertainment for producing all of the new footage. If you missed it, here are a few cast updates from the interviews:

Zack has matured the most. He came across really well- with new perspective on his experience, and with the utmost respect for his castmates. Beau and Tara were very funny- both pursuing the entertainment industry- and Tara appeared with her pet monkey. Toni was the same old Toni and Keith was as cocky as ever. Charla was completely without regrets about the money. For more, I guess you'll have to check out Fox Reality or wait for the DVD which may arrive in 2006.

More important and much more exciting for me,...

2) I am thrilled to announce my engagement to Carrie Fisher, my girlfriend of the last 20 months. She is an amazing friend, lover, and partner, and I am really looking forward to spending the rest of my life with her. We will be married at a huge wedding in New York City in June of 2006, more details to come for those who care. (and lots of photos of course on www.daveboston.com). Paradise Hotel friends on the invitation list include Beau, Tara, Scott, Holly, and Amanda.

Until next time, have a great November, and

You rule!!!

Dave Kerpen

DVD? Could it really happen? Since I'm up here in Canada and couldn't get Fox Reality to watch the rerun, I'm going to keep my fingers crossed.

OT: For those with Paradise Hotel withdrawals... Fox Reality is going to be airing Temptation Island (I think it's Season 2 or 3) beginning the week of 11/1. Obviously PH is the pinnacle of skankitudinous tv entertainment. But, since we can't have that right now, I started a Temptation Island thread. Come join me for snarking and perhaps a few of my so-witty mini-recaps. /OT

Topic? There's a TV Guide commerical on right now with a girl who looks a LOT like now-Amanda. Anyone know if it's her? (The lack of light blue eye shadow is confusing me.)
