Re Wayne Brady appearance: I noticed Kim had one backup singer. Is that usual? Anyway, she could've, er, not been there. As in, on the same stage with an awesome talent like Kim.

Yeah, the shirt was kind of excited. But it's blue! It matches the CD picture!

Great to finally start seeing ODG's name up in lights. And it's only the beginning.

EEEEEEeeee!!!!!

"Somewhere Over the Rainbow" kicks some serious motherfucking bootay!! I couldn't imagine the track being better than the concert's version, but damn, it just sounded divine and heavenly. I didn't cry, but I squealed for like 8 minutes after listening to the track. I am just so excited for her. She's going to be huge.

Then, the Wayne Brady appearance was incredible. What a Klocke-tastic afternoon!

Edited, because I don't really enjoy too many "eees."

Dayum, I missed Kim today. Who is Wayne Brady? I never heard of him. I konverted a friend today - I e-mailed Somewhere Over the Rainbow to my girlfriend (I know, my bad, but I'm trying to pass the good word and if people like her, they'll buy her CD). She called me first thing this morning, asking "WHO IS KIMBERLEY LOCKE?" She loved her, was going to buy her CD. There's so many people out there who NEVER watched American Idol, and we have to get Kim out there for the masses. Still no radio play for her in Detroit.

For all you folks in Canada, I'll e-mail Somewhere Over the Rainbow to you if you can't stand the wait. I feel your pain. The only problem is, my e-mail's not listed and you probably wouldn't want to just post your e-mail address. That said, if you can somehow get your e-mail address to me, I'll send the song.

hooked2 I love you!If you email me poohbaah@hotmail.com, I'll send you my real email address that you could send it too.

Make It So from what I've read on other boards, that was Wayne's regular band, not Kim's band.

Kim-fans get ready because I think that they are actually going to play Kim on the radio cause they are playing it now. I heard Clay on the radio once--yes that is once--since AI. Looks like she won't be followed by the AI curse.

Just chiming in to say Somwhere Over the Rainbow is fantabulous, but a question. Is this the version she did during the tour?? Is it a better version.

Also Queen B I thought the shirt was kind of trendy, to each its own I guess :). Kim loves those types of shirt/shaw combos, I guess.

Between finally purchasing my Kimberley Locke CDs yesterday and Kim on my TV not once but twice today, I am euphoric.

Kim was fabulous on The Wayne Brady Show! Looked great. Sounded great. But that top wasn't doing it for me either. I had hoped for an interview, but am perfectly happy with that great performance. Especially since I ended up getting my interview anyway.

Kim's interview on E! News Live was even more fabulous! Catch it if you can! For anyone that missed it, she looked absolutely gorgeous. She had that glowy sun-kissed look to her skin and it really suite her. Her hair was straight and flipped, and she wore a white peasant-style blouse with split long flowing sleeves and jeans. Did I mention that she looked absolutely gorgeous? Even the hosts kept repeating that she looked "fabulous."

She got some decent couch time. She looked really happy and laughed a lot throughout the interview. She mentioned that she's been in LA since October and had really been looking forward to moving there after the tour. Said she's now "settled in, worked in and doing my thing."

The hosts mentioned that her CD will be out in May. She said that her single came out yesterday and she was beside herself the whole day. She went to the Virgin Megastore on Sunset with some friends to the buy the single. While there, she met someone in line that was also buying the single and "it was surreal" when the person asked her to sign their CD. She mentioned that the full CD comes out May 4th and that she's keeping a countdown! She has the days marked off on her calendar until the CD release. (Aww!) She describes the experience as "really good."

The hosts asked her thoughts on the AI3 contestants. (Kim was very gracious here. Especially considering the meh-ness that is AI3.) She said that she really feels for them because she's been there and knows exactly they feel and how hard it I to get on stage and do what they're doing. Her heart goes out to all of the constestants.

Kim mentioned the What A Pair! breast cancer fundraiser event this weekend. Said that she'll be performing a duet with Deborah Gibson. She seemed very excited about participating.

Just before they close the interview, the hosts mentioned that Kim seems to have lost weight. (Grrrrr!) But Kim handled it well and joked to the effect that "well, now that I'm in LA and have the requisite personal trainer ...." Very cute.

All-in-all a good fun interview. I love happy, smiley, laughing Kim. Makes me happy and smiley too. :)

Nice recap, Thallia. I'm so glad Kim didn't start bashing the poor AI3 contestants. Classy gal.

8WW is definitely a great song to cruise to with the top down. And I can't relate how much I already love "Over The Rainbow". I'm going to buy several copies of this single for friends and loved ones.

I swear, I will always get goosebumps and chills and she belts "can't," at the end.

ETA: I'd be in heaven if Kimberley could open up for the Alicia Keys, Missy Elliot, and Beyonce tour.

Tartarwarrior, it certainly was trendy, but I just thought it was unfortunately unflattering. I'm sorry, the girl needs to wear sleeves. Even the slit ones she wore on E!News Live were better.

Speaking of which, the E thing was nice. I'm glad it was early in the show, sitting through that shit was making me antsy!

Heads up for those who missed Kim on E! - E! News Live will repeat tomorrow at noon EST. So you have one more chance to catch her!

I think that the "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" on the single is similar to the tour version, but it's not the same. Kim really did hold out those notes at the end like she does on the single (I believe I counted around 21 seconds at my show!). The tour version did have a jazz kinda vibe like the single version, but I think the single version is more bluesy. I don't know how to describe it other than they're sort of similar, but not the same. But the single version is the closest I've heard to how she performed it on tour, if that helps any.

I, too, would love to have Kim open for the Triple Threat tour, but that spot was given to Tamia (whom I also like). I really can't wait for Kim to go on tour, though. And not these radio shows, but a real Kim koncert. I'm so giddy over just walking in to a store and seeing her single, I don't know if I'd be able to control myself at a whole Kim show!

Me, too! I got a lump in my throat just looking at her CDs on the rack. I'm so mushy, sometimes.

I, too, would love to have Kim open for the Triple Threat tour, but that spot was given to Tamia (whom I also like).

How sad is it that Tamia is still having to open for others and she's been out for years? But anyhoo...

I swear, I will always get goosebumps and chills and she belts "can't," at the end.

That's one of my absolute favorite parts, along with the part after the bridge: "SOMEwhere OVer the RA-A-AINBOW..."

Somebody tell me why...

hooked2 is a GODDESS! Thank you for e-mailing SOTR to me!

HMV bastards, take that!

It's a really beautiful version. I think it's a little slowed down from the tour version, and it is more bluesy. Definitely a different take on it, definitely more contemporary and definitely fantastic!

It brings back memories of last year, when all of us first congregated on this thread. Wow, has it really been that long? I kept thinking how her voice is so warm and I really miss that on Tuesdays when I watch AI this season. I'm so glad this single is just the beginning for her!

I am now satisfied. Thank you. Now, everyone don't get lazy. Request, request, request and when you're done, request again!
