CBS has put up a slide show showing the construction of the new set.

Here's the wide view of the whole shebang.

I enthusiastically approve.

Drew even stayed out during the breaks and talked to the audience (not sure if Bob ever did that as I never had the fortune to attend while he was around).
Yeah, Bob always did that. He would usually take questions and receive a myriad of bizarre gifts from the audience. Inevitably, he was always asked to repeat his famous line from "Happy Gilmore."

The new set looks extremely cool, yet has retro flair. I like it.

I like it as well. I'm sure that side by side with the old one, the differences would be striking, if not glaring, but looking at it without the old one to compare to, I honestly can't say what was changed beyond the colors being clearer and less acid. Kudos to the designer!

I really really like the new Showcase area. The colors work so well together. And I'm digging that they updated the pricetag too!

Verdict: Pretty good Drew. Pretty good!! Most enthusiasm Ive seen in YEARS! A little stiff, but he'll get better- he's got it.

Wow, Drew is light years better than Barker's last few years. CBS made a great choice, I can't wait for Monday.

Thanks for that link, I'm at work during the day and haven't gotten to see Drew yet. He's great! Glad to see the Price is Right will live on :)

THAT is the definition of a freak-out. She was awfully excited, wasn't she?

BTW, how often do people win at least $10,000 playing Plinko? Whenever I've caught the show, the contestant never got ONE Plinko chip in the $10,000 slot, much less multiple chips in the $10,000 marker.

It doesn't seem to happen very often anymore. But I do remember a time back when the middle slot was $5000 and some guy hit it 4 times in a row. That's the closest and only time anyone came close to winning the maximum amount.

Well I have to say that was just awful, but i'm not giving up or giving Drew the short end of the stick. He needs to grow in to the role, right now he just comes off as nervous and stilted. The pacing of the show and direction was off. I love the new set designs, but the music seems like a different remix or something, it's very distracting and grating. Where did they get those contestants? I never saw so many contestants act stupid and carefree. Bob must have reigned them in during his period on the show, he never would have let them run off to the car before the pricing game began. I can't believe Drew did the pet population spiel, that was Bob's and I thought it would retire w/him. I would give this a solid B but know it will improve as he grows into the role.

I was up with it until 10:59am when they made it a "Fremantle Media" production.

HOWEVER... I think Drew did an AWESOME job. He's not up on all the games yet (calling it just "In the Bag" was a noticable goof, IMHO), but I like his enthusiasm for the job. He works well with contestants and lets them go fun-crizazy. He won't replace "Ezekiel Barker", but he'll do just fine.

Set design was really cool... not such a big fan of the remixes ('cause it sounds like they did more than just "make it in stereo"), but at least they KEPT them. Any other show, and they would have tried to overhaul 'em.

Welcome aboard, Drew.

Sounds like most people won't be able to comment on this until they watched their VHS/TiVo versions when we all get home from work! :)

It's going to take a while for me to get used to Drew. While there were some funny moments like the "Ezekiel Barker" line, and the ribbing of the sound effects person on One Away, Drew REALLY needs to work on pacing. Bob had such amazing control of the show and would always speak in a nice steady tone, and I can't recall a time when I misunderstood him. However Drew seemed to be really racing and speaking like he had way too much coffee. And he really messed up "Help control the pet population" closing. But I'm going to give him a chance and chalk it up to nervousness.
