I like Ron. While he's no David Muir, I like him a lot more than I expected to. I don't know if the banter between them will ever be like it was with David and Tamala-those two seemed to really enjoy working together.

Corning's ok.
I think they are still getting used to each other.

David Kerley looks like he is about 10 mins away from being old.
But that's petty. I like him too.

Working overnights rock!

Ron's okay. Having watched WNN for the most part since its inception, I'm sort of used to anchors leaving for greener pastures. I'll give Corning some time. He'll probably find better chemistry with another co-anchor, don't be surprised if Tamala heads out of the door pretty soon.

Personally I liked WNN better during the pre-Disney ABC ownership years (early to mid '90s), when they did really crazy stuff. http://www.nowbie.net The examples that come to mind are the time they placed a Good Humour ice cream in the middle of ABC Newsroom; Thalia Assuras anchoring a Christmas broadcast with the producer's baby on the desk next to her; the show opening with Tinkerbell wavering her magic wand over the opening credits the day after Disney bought ABC and them showing clips of the "Mighty Ducks" movies during the sports reports.

I'm still annoyed that WNN was reduced from a 2 hour newscast to a 90 minute one in the late '90s.

I've personally found a new reason to get up at 3 am *drool*. He had on a funky shirt in a clip this week that made me wonder about his preferences...

Did anyone watch the Daily Buzz?

I still miss Andrea and Jim anchoring the show.

I miss David Muir. He worked at Channel 5 in Boston for a while. I figured he wouldn't be doing the overnights for too terribly long.

Been a while since I've been able to watch. Is Tamela still on? I know David has since left (which is a shame because I enjoyed him and Tamela together), but last time I watched I saw Ron and Tamela together, so I'm wondering if she'll be remaining?

ETA: Didn't want to double post, but I just wanted to add that today (Januaru 7, 2005) was Tamela Edward's last day on WNN. She's apparently going to Philadelphia to be a morning anchor. I started watching WNN around the time Tamela and David Muir started, and I must say I'm sorry to see both of them gone. I wasn't too aware of WNN's history, so when I saw the hall of fame I was happy to see that she was added to a list of greats that went on to much grander things.

Hope they find someone good to replace her. Ron Corning is okay, if a little bland, but then again, I haven't been watching too much in recent months (I've actually been asleep!). Maybe if they team him up with someone that he has more chemistry with, he'll be better.

And for anyone that wasn't able to watch, they prepared a special video tribute for her with farewell messages from David and other people she's worked with over the past few months. I was surprised that Ron wasn't there to anchor with her on her last day, but apparently he's off vacationing in Hawaii. Anyway, much luck to Tamela at her new job.

Just jumping on the say I love me some Ron Corning. Not even really sure why, except he keeps me company when insomnia strikes. He's my super early morning, can't sleep, making me laugh in bed TV boyfriend.

I thought I would hate Ron because he's not David, but I liked him right away. I haven't watched the show in the past couple of months-I've been too tired to stay up till 4 AM. But come summer, I'll be spending my nights with Ron. I miss Tam, too, but I guess they all move on at some point. It's not exactly the best shift to be working.

Tamala now does the 5AM on WPVI, our ABC affiliate...You can have her back; she has no chemistry w/the rest of the morning team or the viewers

That's a shame. She had such great chemistry with David Muir.
She's a sweetie, I wish her the best of luck at WPVI.

Bump

I haven't had a chance to watch WNN in a while, since my sleep schedule is somewhat normal now. But apparently Heather Cabot is having (or already had) twins. Any news on that?

I didn't know that, haven't watched in quite a while either.
Who's filling in?

Andrea Canning's been filling in... she's doing well, although I think it's been kind of an adjustment for her.

(She told Ron to - quote "take me on the desk" a couple of weeks ago.)
