Ron's okay. Having watched WNN for the most part since its inception, I'm sort of used to anchors leaving for greener pastures. I'll give Corning some time. He'll probably find better chemistry with another co-anchor, don't be surprised if Tamala heads out of the door pretty soon.
Personally I liked WNN better during the pre-Disney ABC ownership years (early to mid '90s), when they did really crazy stuff. http://www.nowbie.net The examples that come to mind are the time they placed a Good Humour ice cream in the middle of ABC Newsroom; Thalia Assuras anchoring a Christmas broadcast with the producer's baby on the desk next to her; the show opening with Tinkerbell wavering her magic wand over the opening credits the day after Disney bought ABC and them showing clips of the "Mighty Ducks" movies during the sports reports. I'm still annoyed that WNN was reduced from a 2 hour newscast to a 90 minute one in the late '90s. |
