» Spoilers: Season 12 and earlier

I am pinning this final warning to ensure that it can't possibly be missed.

If you can be shown to read this thread (that is, you post in it) and you are found going elsewhere on the boards and using spoiler information which you are trying to pass off as speculation, that is a warnable/bannable offense.

Seriously, it's really unfair to other posters, and it's also really lame, because it comes off like you're cheating and trying to make yourself look like you're just a very good guesser.

Please, please stop this. I have had more problems with this during this season than during any other, and I'm determined to get it stomped down as we get closer to the end. I don't want the show ruined for other people. Please don't continue to engage in this, if you're engaging in it now. Thanks very much to the great majority of you who are careful about this.

No, they won't start until around November if the February premiere is true. But TAR Asia 2 should be filming around now, if it hasn't just finished.

I wouldn't be shocked if they did run the race this summer. There've been a few June rumors floating about and it does make sense for CBS to have it on the shelf for when one of its new shows gets the inevitable axe. Let's keep our spoiling eyes open.

Phil said at TARcon that filming was "meant to start" this summer. There are also apparently several TAR 12 producers whose dates of hire are for the summer months (thanks to puddin at RFF for that info), so I think that a summer filming is very likely. And that could mean any time now!

I believe that the date of contestant notification for TARAsia was extended to July 6, so filming probably wouldn't start until at least several weeks after that.

It wouldn't surprise me if there's some sort of deliberte overlap of filming between the different editions of TAR, just to mess up spoiled sightings and such.

I think their summer tapings are usually July-August. Season 10 was a little earlier than the others.

TAR 10 started taping the last Saturday in May, so who knows?

I was in Rockefeller Center this afternoon and I saw someone standing there with a Tupperware container full of clue envelopes. No idea what that means, but I thought I'd share and figured this would be the place to do so.

Interesting! I don't think it means too much right now, but since I can't imaging TPTB doing this for nothing, I think it's a good sign that things are getting underway this summer, but not necessarily this month or necessarily in New York.

Ah! One of my favorites moments during the summer months! Whenever the possibility of a spoiler-sighting surfaces, that is. Anyway, what I think would be a surprise is if the summer came and left sans any TAR taping, even if the show aired in February. IIRC, last year TAR10 taped rather early (May/June), and a year before that, TAR8 taped in July for the most part. Both seasons aired on time (as in autumn of the same year). TAR6 taped in August and could have aired in time for a December finale.

So, should a show end up getting axed, TAR should be ready to go during November sweeps. The show that's likely to be axed would be sometime early to mid October, at which point TAR would get plugged a lot, and then we'd have knowledge of the teams in time for the season to start a month later.

In the end, as mentioned, who knows. Although come May 2008, I think I'd definitely be happy to conclude the 2007-2008 TV season with TAR12 and TAR13 in the record books.

I tried to find if this had been posted before, and failed. So if it's repeated info, my apologies.

CBC tv has an excellent interview show called "The Hour" with host George Stroumboulopoulos. Back around May 10 George did an interveiw with Phil, and CBC just ran a repeat of that show. A couple of things stood out. One was that George made a mistake, something like saying: "The Amazing Race 12 just finished" and was corrected by Phil who said that they had just finished the 11th season, and the 12th season was, in his words, "about to go into" production.

The second thing was that there has been speculation Phil would be hosting his NOW show in Canada this summer, and so would not be available to host TAR12. He said they had just about finished determining a host for NOW, and that while he would "be around" on NOW, he would not be doing what he called the "ambushes". This would leave him available to do TAR12. If TAR12 is already in production, it could even wrap up before NOW starts filming.

Another thing I noticed was that during the interview Phil sat with one shoe resting on the side of his other shoe, a pose that suggests perhaps being greatly at ease and not bothering with overly self-conscious posturing.

Throwing this into the water, can't validate it, but someone (an anon IP) included an edit on Wikipedia that TAR12 filming starts/ed in July. He had no source to back it up so it had to be removed, but ....

I have it on very good authority (my best friend) that the Amazing Race 12 is being filmed in Prague today. My friend spotted the cluebox and waited around and saw many racers grab clues. He asked production and they say it will be aired in September. I just got the email from him telling me this, along with a picture!!!

ETA: Unfortunately, I will not be entertaining requests to verify this spoiler by sharing the pictures my friend sent me. He took them, they are his. I will not share them with strangers. That said, my first thought upon receiving his email was to share the information with fellow TAR obsessed fans on TWOP. I have never posted a spoiler before if there is a rule in this forum that I must provide evidence that is independently verifiable, please let me know. Thank you.

A friend of a coworker was recently on a flight to Burkina Faso with contestants and camera crews who claimed to be filming TAR. (He'd never seen the show, so he didn't know to ask any other questions.)

Burkina Faso could be interesting. I'd like to see them also go north to Mali.

Not to be a downer, but I thought when people ask the crews or contestants whats going on...they always make up some phony "travel show" excuse?

According to my coworker, the contestants and camera crews were initially coy about what program they were working on, but eventually some of the contestants said it was TAR.

Another take-it-or-leave-it unverifable Wikipedia edit claims that part of Evil Dr. Will's appearence on Big Brother All Stars that he and Mike Malin would be a team in TAR12.

Again, take it or leave it, as there's no link for a source to it.
