» Spoilers: Season 12 and earlier

I am pinning this final warning to ensure that it can't possibly be missed.

If you can be shown to read this thread (that is, you post in it) and you are found going elsewhere on the boards and using spoiler information which you are trying to pass off as speculation, that is a warnable/bannable offense.

Seriously, it's really unfair to other posters, and it's also really lame, because it comes off like you're cheating and trying to make yourself look like you're just a very good guesser.

Please, please stop this. I have had more problems with this during this season than during any other, and I'm determined to get it stomped down as we get closer to the end. I don't want the show ruined for other people. Please don't continue to engage in this, if you're engaging in it now. Thanks very much to the great majority of you who are careful about this.

As for the teams of TAR9, here's what I could decipher from what little they'd shown us in the preview. Looks like we can look forward to:

female/male team (self-proclaimed "nerds")
male/male team (one latin, the other caucasian)
female/female team (almost twin-like, but not quite...over at SurvivorSucks, I'd heard that there would be a team with the name "Danielle & Danielle" which makes me wonder if these girls are it)
female/female team of middle aged women (Gusty Grannies redux? Return of the Bowling Moms?)

Regardless, it's great to see a return to the tried and true 11-teams-of-2 format.

Edited after re-viewing the preview...

The TAR9 preview shows the teams leaving from what appears to be Red Rock Ampitheatre in Denver...what may also be the finish line.

Oh yeah...that was Red Rocks. Would love it if the first task was a trip 'around the corner' to the Morrison Inn to eat some Mexican food and down some margaritas!

I noticed that was Red Rocks too, so it does throw a little doubt about my evidence that Red Rocks was the final pit stop. I was at work and never saw the teams, but I did call. The lady I talked to had a definite pause when I mentioned the Amazing Race. But given that the race started there, that could also explain that pause. I still think they ended in Denver, but its possible they just had a wrap party at Red Rocks.

My gut tells me they finished there, but the best evidence I had was the reaction on the other end of the phone and that could easily be explained by the races start. There is still the fact that Red Rocks was closed for a "private event" just after the exact times the teams flights were to arrive in Denver.

The saddest part for me was looking at the starting shot of the racers and seeing the spot in the background that I was going to drive to in order to get pictures of the race finish on Dinosaur Ridge. Sigh. It would have been the perfect spot, I knew I should have become sick.

I'm pretty sure that the brunette girls were not Danielle and Danielle since the poster who identified the double Ds said they were tall, blond and athletic, while those two I would definitely call brunette.

Interesting to come back here post-race and read all the TAR8 spoilers. What about the spoiler that said the Godlewskis were seen on a plane to Canada? I guess whichever passenger relayed that information got them confused with the Tonyas.

I can already tell that the Nerds will get on my nerves. Seems like all an act, and that they're trying too hard. Like that other nerd, Gary of Team Thunk. I hope that there are spoilers saying they are out early.

It shows Japan (Mt. Fuji and Tokyo), Russia (Moscow), what appears to be a Grecian ruin...

Wasn't that the Parthenon?

No, it isn't the Parthenon. I can say that because that's what I called it in the episode thread but I was wrong. Screen caps are up at Sucks and the Greek ruins are indeed, as a poster pointed out to me on the episode thread, all alone in total isolation on a grassy hill with no sign of Athens or buildings or anything near it.

Oh and someone over there said the mask shown in one shot corresponds with a traditional mask from Indonesia. It would be awesome if it turns out that they went there.

It could still be the Godlewskis as a decoy team. They wouldn't fly down to Panama City (just mentioned today as Sequesterville) and back to upper NY state from Montana with only a day or two left in the race. So they could well be running decoy or just flying along with production to the end. I assume lots of people at TARCon would be asking the teams about running decoy so maybe one of them can post info soon about the decoy team set-up this season.

I called Red Rocks too, the woman told me it was for a wedding. Yeah, right. I'm sure they would close the amphitheatre for a wedding. I didn't see any event pictures or a fundraiser in the Denver Post or the Rocky Mountain News. And, it would be a GREAT finish to see people puffing up the hill from the parking lot and hurtling down the stairs of Red Rocks for an on-stage finish!

I looked at the thread at Sucks, but there isn't a screencap of the temple. I wonder if it could be Segesta, Sicily. The Greek temple there (built by Greek settlers) is in good condition and surrounded by countryside. I didn't record the TAR9 preview, but I've been to Greece twice and none of the temple I've seen there reminded me of what I saw on TV last night.

Well the question comes up enough that the Denvergov.org faq has a link about it. That said... A wedding reservation that has the whole complex shutdown for over 6 hours. I don't think even the most outlandish weddings make guests endour that kind of tourture. That and no wedding in the past caused the place to be closed, or at least its the only closure that was ever mentioned on the news section.

Suuuuureee... cause who wouldn't want to have an outdoor wedding in Colorado the first weekend in December? It snowed that night (Dec 2-3), and that was the beginning of a cold spell--so, that would have been an unpleasant wedding.

I'm still on board with the Red Rocks as finish line theory.

lulee, that temple you posted looks quite a bit like the one from the preview (the colour, the green surroundings). Interesting.

I would love it if they went to Segesta. I was there in late spring some years back and it was gorgeous - surrounded by wildflowers with wheat fields not far - very picturesque.

I was trying to remember how cold it was that day... i think the "something blue" at the wedding would have been the bride. Some friends got married there a couple of years ago and they certainly didn't close the park, or the amphitheater!
