» What is... Jeopardy

And aren't you all wondering WHO it will be that will eventually cause the downfall of Ken??

Absolutely. I just wonder if more will be made out of Ken finally losing than the person who manages to beat him.

I think the media will focus on Ken losing more than the person that actually beats him, only because of the thing that I'm afraid's going to happen: The new champ's win is a fluke and gets killed the following show (possibly starting yet another round of 1-day champions).

Either that, or the person gets beat before winning his or her 5th game, and without reaching $75000 or $100000.

I would love to see Brian Weinke go up against Ken, because if someone succeeds, it should be someone that was also a great. Brian still holds the most won in one show, I think.

Bklyndeb, I believe you need to do exactly what you did to start your spoiler message. Also, make sure there's a slash prior to the word spoiler as you "close" the spoiler message.

OK, I'm sure he must be a very nice guy in person, but that dude in the middle tonight might have been the dullest Jeopardy contestant ever with the dullest personal anecdote ever. "I went on a date that didn't work out." I thought she might have at least thrown her drink in his face or something.

Sorry, we just like to play "Rate that personal anecdote" in my casa.

And Ken, nice try on the Superman emblem on short notice, but no offense: It kind of looked like Superman made a cameo in Alien.

Now you see I liked the Superman emblem. And when I saw it, I understood why he had that particularly nice smile near the end of the FJ music.

Oh, I liked it. I just don't think he should quit his career as a question-answerer to become an artist.

RE: DR. SCHOLL: I have not seen the show this evening but read the comment re Dr. Scholl/Scholl's.
I asked my husband about the name, and he came back with Dr. Scholl's. I just looked up Dr. Scholl
in Google, and all that comes up is Dr. Scholl's. I think we were all "raised" with the word "Dr. Scholl's"
and doubt if very many people would say Dr. Scholl (though it is obviously correct). But Liver was correct
for last evening's answer, not Gall Bladder! Google agrees.

KEN: So many of us would love to see a "second chance tournament" for those that played against you.
I have written to Jeopardy and others might have, too, as well as the idea being mentioned on this site. Just
wondering if YOU wrote to Alex or someone at the studio, it might have more influence. Coming from you,
they might like the idea! Of course, I think, if they do that kind of tournament, you should be the
Master of Ceremonies!!!! (Can't you just see Alex permitting that???)

Continued good luck, we are so enjoying you.

I knew he'd get it after that run of the Marvel comics category yesterday. He made quite a large wager though for Final Jeopardy- kinda surprised me.

I figured out that what the illustration was - pretty good job under the time constraints and the pressure, if you ask me.

Agreed. Considering the difficulties many contestants have with writing their responses, I thought that symbol was exceptionally well done.

"Bile-producing" was problematic wording. However the bear's liver is not the bile-associated organ that gets sold for that amount in Chinese pharmacies. Or at all, for that matter. Hence the ruling as it went.

Sorry. No pity for the Jeopardy Juggernaut!

(I'm just kidding, in case it hasn't been clear.)

Word, RedBliss. A blind date that didn't work out? What a wild and crazy guy! I've never heard of such a thing! [/sarcasm]

Sheesh.

The dullest one I remember is from some years back, a guy whose personal anecdote was that he'd just gotten a CPAP machine. All I could think of was, man, that guy must have the more boring life in the world if getting a good night's sleep is the only interesting thing he had to share!

The contestant coordinators sort of ask you not to refer to yourself as a "dork", "nerd", "geek" or otherwise. They don't want to seem like anything but a game an Average Joe could play (let's not forget the performances of many a bartender through the years!).

I lost $2000 because I said "Puxatawney" instead of "Punxatawney" so you can be sure that I curse each and every time someone skates by after omitting/adding a letter. Blast you, Ken! And earlier this season some lady said "Motorcross" and Alex said, "Actually is Moto-cross, but you're correct!" I go bananas.

ETA: I know I said upthread I'm not watching, but I sure do seem to be coming to this thread 2-3 times a day </loser>.

Pet Shop Boys were a Jeopardy question! How awesome is that?!

Hrmmm...how did I know that Leonard would know what a chafing dish is? How ever did I know?

Oh, lordy. Through my hysterical laughter, I managed to call out the first four correction questions in “Shakespeare the Sitcom.”

Aw, Leonard’s hopelessly sad face in the home stretch of DJ, when he ironically had the board for a good three questions but knew it wouldn’t do him any good, was just incredibly depressing.

It was a total shot in the dark, but Lois Lane was my guess, too. Of course Marvel Man got it. (Not that I have any idea whether Superman is Marvel or DC.)

Shouldn't that be his career as an answer-questioner?
