So I just wanted to comment that Luke was fabulous on last weeks episode! I always liked the character, but now I am totally prepared to join in the Luke love thing!

Felt bad for Luke last night. Things did not go well, and he deserves better. For some irrational reason I still hope that Lorelai is going to wake up and realize that Luke's the best thing that could ever happen to her. (I had hopes after the dream last season. Or was that the season before? I digress.) I really wish that Lorelai had stomped on Jess a little bit more.

Luke needs to divorce Nicole, and quickly. I just can't see anything good coming of that relationship.

Luke's lame marriage annoys me. I hope it goes away soon.

And I was shocked when that guy TJ called him a dick. I didn't think I'd ever hear that word on Gilmore Girls.

Well, Paris has said "bite my ass" before, so why not, I guess.

I love Luke. I might start cheating on Patch Abbott with him.

It's funny, the next night on "Angel" Spike called Angel a dick, too. Yeah, it's OT but I think it's funny that two WB shows used the same expletive two nights in a row. Did the standards and practices board decide that it was suddenly okay to use?

If Angel and Luke are dicks, then I'd love to see who's considered an a**hole - well that would be Jess, wouldn't it?

I'd just like the opp to say I'm pleased with the amount of Luke we've been getting with the last few episodes. His Drunk!Luke scene with Lorelai was one of the best scenes this show has given us. Now all we need is a big blowup scene with Nicole and I'll be extremely satisified!

That would be so satisfying! But my guess is that Nicole ends not with a bang but a whimper, as it were.

I don't care how it ends, as long as it does.

After this last episode, I'm finally on the LukeTrainOfLove.....

I always liked him because he seemed like a genuinely nice guy but I never *hearted* him or was invested in a Luke/Lorelai ship. However, now I'm at the point that if by the end of this series these two people aren't together I'm going to parachute onto the studios roof in protest *ok, maybe not reallly*.

He just seemed so wounded after Jess' tirade and I wanted to go into mother bear mode. It was sad really.........I'm sitting there on my chair getting all pissed off over a show. I felt like stomping over to Jess along with Lorelai.

Yeah, in the scenes between Luke and Jess, I really get a sense of Luke's caring side and his nurturing side - even when he's yelling at Jess. I really think Luke would make an excellent parent. He'd make mistakes, sure, everyone does, but he'd really care.

The Nicole thing is just stupid, IMO. Don't know why they're dragging it out.

How great was Luke/SP last night?

In the scene with Lorelai's breakdown, he just listened and gave her what she needed - emotional support and comfort. He didn’t try to make light of it (contrast that with the handkerchief joke in FAS – the last time he physically comforted Lorelai in tears) he was just her rock.

And she really didn’t even want to discuss the money – she just wanted to cry and have Luke hold her. In the situation, the money that he gives her is important, but just as important is his unwavering support. I loved the way he said “You are NOT failing," – in a stern manner but then softened when he said “It’s okay.”

I'm so glad that ASP/DP gave him more to do than rant or pour coffee. More please!

I'm working on a theory:

Luke = Pacey Witter ten or fifteen years down the road. Both small-town guys with an interest in foodstuffs and in love (unspoken, in Luke's case) with somewhat emotionally skittish brunette town beauties. Both charming, caring, completely desirable guys who, through lack of confindence and past hurts, have no idea how wonderful they are. They build walls around their hearts to protect themselves from being hurt until (in Pacey's case and hopefully in Luke's) the women of their dreams break through and shows them how worthy they are of being loved.

In short, I. Want. A. Luke. Of. My. Own!

Nicole is that annoying ex that doesn't know when to say its enough. They try to constantly control their ex and make them love them. IN the same time, they get pissed and upset when someone else is taking up the others time. Luke doesn't want to feel like he failed somethign else like he did with Jess. Hence why he's putting up with this shit with Nicole, yet its constantly shown he doesn't want his life with Nicole. Any other sane person would of just said: "Why are we doing this, we're miserable, we need to move on." Of course a character moving on past an ex on Gilmore Girls is like asking 7th Heaven to be a good show.

Well, since they're still married and all, I don't blame Nicole for wanting Luke to at least act like she matters to him. I don't think her behavior qualifies her as an annoying ex.

I agree with healing fish. You can't be an "annoying ex" at least until you are an "ex". For whatever reasons, Luke did agree to stay married and to live with Nicole - to the point where Nicole goes out, finds a townhouse in a neighboring town, moves out of her apartment, and into what she would assume be their home. She's not annoying. She's pissed. And hurt. And angry. And she should be.

More reasons why she needs to end it since it was her idea to give it another try.
