Well, since I work across from the studios of PTI, I now know what making all that sounds when I go past the building. Dear Lord, they had to bring both Mariotti and Whitlock in. Sad to say but I think its the first time I anticipated ATH more than PTI. Oh, on yesterday's note, George Solomon wrote his first column as ombudsmen and mention that ATH had to lower their tone. Sadly, his son did not listen. Aaron, better listen to your dad, he's actually right.

I actually thought Whitlock and Mariotti worked better as a team than Smith and Whitlock by a rather sizable margin. I didn't think they were spectacular, but there was nothing I'd call awful, either. Well, maybe Whitlock's 102% in the Odds. Not nearly as impressed with that as the Statman.

I turned it off as soon as I saw Mariotti. I was so happy to not see him on ATH, then ARRRGH! At least with ATH, he splits time with 4 other people, and there's a chance he could be gone after 2 rounds. Here he has half the screen time, at least. I'd almost rather watch Stuart Scott host Sportscenter.

Marrioti just stunk every way possible yesterday. His tan suit was ugly, his pink tie was ugly, and his hair gel was just absurd. Oh yeah, his banter with Jason Whitlock about east coast bias? Psst, Jay, you know Wilbon is from Chicago and loves all things midwest. And TK only has east coast bias because everything that takes place elsewhere is past his bedtime.

Man, ESPN is making it tough. I've all but given up on ATH because of Woody and now I have to see Mariotti on PTI. That said, I do think Whitlock is a decent sports columnist. I couldn't tell if he was being serious with the Lance Armstrong thing or not. I also noticed in one shot that he was wearing sneakers with his suit under the set.

I would like to think that Tony and Wilbon do this to us every year to remind us just how great they are.

And shut the frell up, Mariotti and Whitlock, you both suck.

Ack! Whitlock knocked Lance again! I think he's fallen into the commentator trap where you say something dumb and then cling blindly to it come hell or high water. At least Reali gave it to him and mentioned all the negative emails he's getting!

We get the message guys. Please never leave us again.

I was ready to gouge my eyes out when I saw Whitlock join Michael Smith the other day. When I fired up the TiVo this afternoon and saw Mariotti on yesterday's episode, I wanted to cry. Today, I only stuck around long enough to hear them discuss the British Open, and then I had to bail. I can't take much more of this.

Every year, it just serves to remind me how awesome and unique Tony and Mike's chemistry is.

Indeed. Plus, they talk faster. They get more discussion and humor into the show.

Oh, no: You're making me regret missing Thursday's episode. On Tuesday, Whitlock said Lance was not a great athlete because 2 and 3 year olds know how to ride a bike. How could he possibly be more negative?

I didn't even make it that far. As soon as I saw Mariotti's smug little asshat face, that TV was off...

The subs read an email on Tony's radio show today that asked if we might pretty-please get "best of" shots of PTI the next time the guys "have the day off." Amen. I'd take year-old reruns over this painful dreck.

Even Mariotti knows how much he, Whitlock, and LeBatard are hated! I was shocked to hear him say that today.

That cracked me up. At least he knows.

And Whitlock, the "small, hard balls" joke? Ew.

Tony, Mike, we love you. Please never leave us with the travesty that is Jay Mariotti ever again. I would much rather have Stat Boy fill in.
