THREAD GROUND RULES:

1. This thread is for discussion of the TV show, Live With Regis And Kelly. The hosts discuss their personal lives, so those subjects are on-topic, but only to the extent that you're discussing their presentation on the show.

2. If you often submit the same sort of posts [for example, if your posts often focus on Kelly's marriage, body, or kids (and sheeesh, please be mindful of the fact that they're little kids)] there's a point at which you're no longer using the thread to discuss Live; you're using it to work through your issues (usually with Kelly). Please do yourself and all of us a favor and stick that stuff in a blog. You can get free ones here, here and here and many other places.

3. Please remember that TWoP rules out grinding a point down to a stump (i.e. don't rehash, and there's no winning an internet argument, so make your point and move on). There have been recent updates to the TWoP FAQ. Please read it and the DOs and DON'Ts, before you post again.

I found the whole thing to be incredibly distasteful, and I'm not a Kelly Ripa fan. Most people who watch the show probably are. I can only imagine what they think of Clay.

What did he do? What did he do?

Did he call her Teen Boy Cross Dresser?

Re Clay, usually he is very charming and this did not match his public image. He also usually acts in a way that keeps his enemies close (Kathy G) or doesn't speak of them at all (Simon C). He was beyond bitchy to Kelly. He's smart enough to know that he had crossed the line and it wasn't funny and even worse looked bad but he choose to keep it going until the end of the show. So the big question is why?

Basically, he had a sullen look on his face, kept milking the audience for unearned applause, and treated Kelly like she was there for the sole purpose of wiping his muddy boots on her. Me, me, me. She did not take the bait, fortunately, because it could have just turned into a snipefest. Maybe entertaining if that had happened, but the sort of thing you don't want on your resume or on Page Six on Monday.

It was hard to find any mention of R&K at all anywhere, there are so few forums for them. I did laugh at the only comment I did find on a TV site.

Did anybody see what a total betch Kelly was to Clay today when he tried to cover her mouth? HAHAHAAH it was too funny! She would not shut up, that was true, and then she reacted like a super B- ITCH oh my god!!!!! hahahah.

She used to be SO freakin cool and funny, those days are so far gone now though, she is the most annoying stuck on herself hostess on tv! YIKES!

Usually all the jokes Kathy Griffin makes are based on truth.

Kathy has stated more than once that she has no idea if he is or not and that she teases him based on her own perceptions and not on any factual information, so her truth is that she doesn't know.

Wow, I didn't get that from Clay on R&K friday at all. I thought he was hilarious and I thought Kelly played right along. Maybe you have to know more about him, but he has a really sarcastic sense of humor. Usually the cohosts are just kind of lumps (unless they're Howie Madel or someone like that). I thought the show Friday was a real hoot.

I guess in the end it just depends on if you like the guy or not. Me? Don't like so I think he was rude to Kelly.

His former male lover posts on her website forums.

You mean the guy that used his gayness to chicken out of going to Korea, hasn't paid a single bill since he got out of the military, and would claim to have sex with his own mother if it earned him a few bucks and a shot at a porn career? Yeah, right. If he ever was within 100 feet of Clay Aiken, I have a lovely bridge in Brooklyn I can sell you.

I thought the show was really funny, and since I can't stand Kelly Ripa, nothing he did bothered me in the least. And she was pretty rude herself, talking about how Mario wasn't judged fairly on DWTS, while the winning team was right there hearing it all.

Yeah, the guy who had nekkid pics of Clay...that's the one.

The Claymates never cease to amaze me w/their Internet presence.

She did? I didn't see the show, in front of Emmitt and Cheryl she said that?!

Did they respond?

Ugh, she's sickening.

I didn't know people really wanted a shot at a porn career.

Well, that's just gross.

He can be a very fuuny guy.

Clay has a great voice, but his attitude sucked Friday. If he didn't want to be on the show, he shouldn't have shown up. He was so full of himself, and came off as a jerk. At a time it was easy to seperate Clay from the actions of his fans, but it seems that he's let their idol worship go to his head.

On today's show, Kelly said she missed the heck out of Regis on Friday as Clay Aiken was the co-host. Regis asked if there was a "little miscommunication" and Kelly said, "No... I don't think there was a little miscommunication. I feel there was a lot of hostility directed ... " Regis interrupted and said that the co-hosts are sometimes nervous. She responded, "I was surprised because he was a Southern boy and I expected a little hospitality." She said there was some impropriety and dis-respect and "I don't think he was respectful in any way. You don't put your hands over someone's face when they're conducting an interview." Regis was funny when he said, "Never in my wildest dreams did I think you would be having a feud with Clay Aiken!"

Kelly said she did not think he would have acted that way with a male co-host. She also said his hand was "cold and clammy." She said that Howard Stern called her after the show and made her laugh with his take! (She didn't give any details, though. Darn)

Me-ow!

Well, it's about time someone covered her BIG mouth.

Kelly is so proud that Howard Stern and his lover Beth called her to discuss how Clay behaved. All is right with the world when Howard Stern cares enough to call.

Did anyone notice Kelly got no support-applause from the audience when she whined about how Clay treated her. HA! Too bad.

I missed both the Clay show, and whatever Kelly said this morning .. but just from reading all this I think - get over yourself, Clay! It seems someone has got a big chip on his shoulder about something. He really needs to let go of the gay denial and hostility. I'm sure it can't be an easy thing if he doesn't want to come out, but why get so hostile with such a lightweight as Kelly Ripa? It's only making him look bitchy. And see, if Howard Stern was all over the way he acted on the show - he's not helping himself.

Exactly. Clay's career depends on being viewed as "nice." And if he doesn't want to be perceived as gay, he should stop wearing all that eyeliner!
