What are the registration steps?

1. You register on the TWoP forums using the register link near the top of all forum pages.
2. You are sent a validation email to prove you are using the email you registered with.
3. After you validate your account we will review it. If your username follows the guidelines on the registration page (you did read them didn't you?) we will approve your account -- usually within a business day.
4. If everything is a-ok, you'll get an email letting you know your account was approved. Happy posting!

I've registered for an account or changed my account email, but never got an email back from TWoP with my validation code.

After you register for an account (or edit your account's email address) a Validation Email is sent to it. In this email is a link you must click on to prove that you have access to the email address you are using on TWoP.

Sometimes people do not get a validation email because their system has placed it in the junk/spam/bulk folder. You can request that a validation email be resent by using the "Resend Validation Email" link near the top of every forum page (which appears when you log in with a unverified account). If you wish to or need to 'whitelist' the address, the validation email comes from the address forums@televisionwithoutpity.com.

If resending doesn't work, email forums@televisionwithoutpity.com and we'll try to help. Be sure to mention the email address and username you registered with so that we can find your account in the system.

I've validated my account but I still can't post.

Once you validate your account, it is placed in a queue for review by TWoP adminstrators. This process may happen one minute or one business day after you validate. If your username is okay, another validation email will be sent to you within one business day. Until the account is approved by TWoP admins, you can login but can't post.

If your username violates any of our username no-nos, your pending account will be deleted. If you don't get an email after a few days, chances are your account request was trashed due to username violations. Read the no-nos (they're on the page where you tell us your username during the registration process) and pick a name that lives within the rules.

Why doesn't my username work when I try to login?

When you registered you chose two names. One was your User Name, which is what you use to login. The other was the Public Display Name, which is the name that appears next to your posts. Many people use the same name for both, but if you didn't, make sure that you are trying to login with your User Name, not your Public Display Name.

I can't remember my password and/or username.

If you can't remember your password, use the "Forget your password?" link on the forum login page. If you can't remember your username, use the "Forget your username?" link on the forum login page.
