Didn't have any inspiration for a topic name so feel free to suggest.

From Mediaweek

Over at the CW, the 11th season-premiere of 7th Heaven kicked-off at a disappointing (and last-place) 3.7/ 6 in the overnights, 4.36 million viewers and a 1.6/ 4 among adults 18-49. Comparably, last year's season-opener on the WB (on Sept. 19, 2005) debuted with a 4.9/ 7 in the overnights, 5.42 million viewers and a 2.0/ 5 among adults 18-49.

Also premiering at 9 p.m. was CW drama Runaway, which limped out of the gate with a mere (and, of course, last-place) 1.8/ 3 in the overnights, 2.35 million viewers and a 0.7/ 2 among adults 18-49. Comparably, that declined from lead-in 7th Heaven by a considerable 51 percent in the overnights (3.7/ 6 to 1.8/ 3), 2.01 million viewers (4.36 to 2.35) and 56 percent among adults 18-49 (1.6/ 4 to 0.7/ 2). Would the CW have been better off leaving Everwood in the time period?

Donnie Wahlberg: No longer a New Kid

You may know him from such things as "Band of Brothers", "Boomtown" (boo to NBC for messing with that show!) and the guy who shot Bruce Willis in "The Sixth Sense." I remember him from such things as "Hangin' Tough", crass merchandising and the most awesome ripped jeans ever. After 17 years Donnie, you still have The Right Stuff. (Yeah, I said it.)

He's the only reason I'm watching this. Here's hoping it last more than 6 weeks.

Old Runaway Thread

From the CW's press release:

The Raders look like a normal middle-class American family, with a dad, Paul Rader, his lovely wife Lily, teenagers Henry and Hannah and 8-year-old Tommy. Those are their real names, but as they struggle to blend into a new life in Bridgewater, Iowa, they are all using secret identities. This family is on the run, hiding from the legal system that unjustly accused Paul Radar of a terrible and violent crime. Adding to the danger, the real killer is now threatening the lives of the Rader children. As Paul works to protect his loved ones and uncover the evidence that will clear him, he lives with the daily fear that someone will accidentally reveal the family's dark secret in RUNAWAY, The CW's new one-hour drama. RUNAWAY stars Donnie Wahlberg as Paul Rader, Leslie Hope as Lily Rader, Dustin Milligan as Henry Rader, Sarah Ramos as Hannah Rader, Nathan Gamble as Tommy Rader, Susan Floyd as Gina Bennett, Karen LeBlanc as Angela Huntley.

The pilot is out 'in the wild'. I'm not really into these Prison Break/Traveler/Fugitive-style stories so the show didn't do much for me.

The cast is stronger than I expected, acting-wise, but also, as a whole, very miscast. They just don't look like a family (and I don't think there's any way I'd be able to watch Donnie Wahlberg on my screen every week. Blech). Probably would have been fine had they not thrown in the pretty-boy son who looks like he should have been the one to get the lead on Hidden Palms instead of Taylor Handley.

The family-on-the-run storyline is blah, and I have no idea how they think they're going to sustain it. Especially if the backstory is going to center around Donnie playing with his Palm Pilot constantly. And the 'suspenseful' 'twist' ending with misleading location shots was completely stolen from Silence of the Lambs.
