Regina sets up Samantha on a blind date with a contractor; Andrea plans a trip to Rome with her new boyfriend.

Sam must move back into the apartment when she faces eviction for subletting it to Todd, who invites his new girlfriend (Kiele Sanchez) to move in with him.

[ABC president Steve] McPherson said that they tried hard to get a vehicle for Christina Applegate this season because she's a "brilliant talent that pops off the screen. She just nails this part," of a woman who wakes up from a coma with amnesia, and finds that the person she was before her accident wasn't a very good one. "She creates a real voice for the character, which I think is missing from a lot of comedies."
