Old Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Thread

Gah. I haven't been able to watch any of the episodes without passing out (due to the flu). What episode does that occur in, because I need a laugh right now.

That's actually from "Hysteria," easily my favorite first-season episode. But it's not on today.

The scene in "Care" where Alex is preping the boy for trial is a great "awww" moment. And she looks ridiculously hot, as always.

Still back on "Ridicule," Fin too made some wisecrack about how "Three girls at once is everyone's dream" or something like that. That whole scene made me think of UltraViolet's annoyance at "Saint Olivia," because they set it up so she's the only one arguing for Peter's side. (Well her and Cragen, what with "We have a complaining witness, so we investigate." Sure thing, Cap'n. Unless the complainant is drunk. Or it's season 5. Or both.)

I slept through the first airing of "Wrath," but it's on later this afternoon, right? Because as much as Olivia annoys me in it, it's a quintesential drinking game episode. The premise alone gets a Drink! or two...stalking, Taking! It!Personally, etc.

Fanfic: The Good, the Bad and the Unspeakably Brain-Scorching

I figured I'd get us started out with the brain-scorchingly awful: This is a fic that's so memorably bad, it's worthy of its own thread. It's also exceptionally long, so let me give you the highlights:

1) Olivia gets pregnant with Elliot's twins (of course), one of which she miscarries.
2) Kathy Stabler goes psychotic and tries to strangle Olivia.
3) Casey has a psychic communication with Alex Cabot's "ghost." No, really.
4) Alex returns and gets Cesar Valez sentenced to death in two paragraphs. Not that Alex isn't that awesome, but still...

It doesn't have any of the OhHellNo pairings, but there is a suggestion of Alex/Munch. Blech.

So does anybody have any good fic recs that don't come from P&P?

SPOILER Discussion: Shining a Light in Dark Places

Casey Novak will be hit in the head by a softball and spend the rest of the season in an assisted living facility. When Casey discovers that the employees at her assisted living are eeeevil corrupt low-paid uncaring drones, Alex returns...again! in a shocking SVU twist you'll have to see to believe!

OK, so that's totally a faux spoiler that I just made up to get it started, but hope springs eternal! Any real spoilers in the house?

Hair Wings and a Gun: Olivia Benson

Olivia Benson as feminist protagonist: a weak attempt at pandering to the image of the "strong woman" by Dick Wolf or the genuine article? Does the constant femme-inization of her character grate, or is it a natural extension of her role as a woman and cop? (I think we all know the answer to that one.) And most importantly, wasn't that blue v-neck she was wearing the other day totally Hot?

Tie Tuck! Elliot Stabler

To his fans, Elliot Stabler is a passionate defender of the weak. To others he's a prick with a bad attitude and a short temper. But I'm sure everyone can agree he's sexy as hell. So discuss away, happy people.

Can't remember in which episode a certain scene happened? Maybe you just started watching the new episodes, and don't understand what the lurchy redhead is doing pretending to be a lawyer? Or you've tuned in to the USA reruns and want to know if there was every any followup to one of the plot points? (Ha! Dick Wolf spits in the face of your followup!)

Or you're just curious: Where does Elliot live? What's Alex's middle name? Has Cragen ever punished one of his subordinates? Have Our Heroes ever played nicely with other officers?

Ask away.

Right up there with Alex's "Thank you. You've presented a provocative theory. What it lacks in substance, it makes up for in pretty colors."

To be somewhat more serious, I dig Cap'n Foo Foo's interchange with Alex at the end of "Secrets", after the Marni the teacher's rapist-murderer isn't indicted:

Cragen: The law isn't always about justice.
Alex: Who let you in on our little secret?
Cragen: All the Marnis who came before.

Others?
