Spoilers and Spoiler Discussion: "It's Not What You Think"

We got a green light on a thread for speculation based on spoilers, so I figured I'd set it in motion, even though with the finale next week, it'll be a while before we start putting the thread to good use.

So now, we can keep the spoiler thread strictly for spoilers. If you want to go into in-depth discussions about those spoilers, you can bring that over here. Sounds fair enough :)

House in the Media: "Portuguese Medical Journals"

The place for all media references to House. I recently posted one such listing which I'll repeat here in less words. First, a link to the original post.

Then the link to the article. You have to scroll nearly half way down to get to some House acrticle/references here. Look for the words "HOT DOCS" in all caps and bold. Keep scrolling and they rate House's other doctors' (and Grey's Anatomy doctors') bedside manners. Everything they wrote about House I had seen before - word for word I think. So here are some snippets on the other doctors.

The Fanfic Recommendation Thread

The Fanfic thread is back! Here are a few ground rules to prevent this from getting closed again:

This will mainly be a place for people to ask for links to stories or post links to stories. No discussion about the nature of fanfic in general or fanon or any of that stuff, please. And I'd appreciate it if we could keep the praise or criticism of linked stories to a minimum, because there are other places for that stuff, too. And it usually leads to several pages of comments that are little more than "great!", which is nice, but also redundant.

As far as linking goes, you can link to your own story UNLESS it's a link to your own personal site. So links to your story on fanfiction.net or something like that are fine, but to your livejournal site is considered site-pimping. Someone else can link to a story on your personal site, though.

This seems to have worked really well over in the O.C. forum, so hopefully, it'll work here as well. If you have any comments or complaints, please feel free to email me at saram@televisionwithoutpity.com.

I just read about this new drama in Lisa de Moraes' tv column in The Washington Post, and after SQUEEEEing for about five minutes I rushed over here to start this thread.

The pertinent facts:

1.	It’s called House.
2.	It stars Hugh Laurie.
3.	It’s some kind of medical mystery show.
4.	It stars Hugh. Laurie.

Just when I think I can’t love Fox anymore than I already do this week (following their renewal of Arrested Development) they go and get Hugh “Jeeves & Wooster, Blackadder” Laurie and give him their best time slot (Tues., post-American Idol!) and everything.

I’m so excited.

Dr. Gregory House

I love this man. Hugh Laurie was the whole reason I signed onto the show (okay, I'll admit, he was enough to get me here, but the names "Bryan Singer" and "Robert Sean Leonard" also had a lot to do with it).

He's quite simply one of the most refreshing characters on TV. He's allowed to get away with things other shows would never dream of letting the hero do, and he never changes.

Okay, maybe he does change, a little. But not enough to stop the snark.

Love, love, love. So long as he remains damaged and snarkful, House will be my favorite TV character evah.
