The Old Biggest Loser Thread

This is the new reality show thats going to go in Last Comic Standing's spot in three weeks. In this reality show "The biggest loser wins". Sorry but im already tired of hearing that line from the previews. But in the show, several overweight people will split up into two teams with two different diets. And whoever loses the most by the end of the show wins. Of course have to make the "fatty" look like idiots by throwing junk foods in their face and watch them salivate and break diet over the food. But on the whole it looks like a good show. Its looks like it might be more sincere in wanting the contestants to succeed. It does seem like i feel new reality show trend coming with the new "who can go the longest without smoking" show on pax and now this. I just we dont get a "who can lay off the caffiene for the longest" show next. But i will give this show a try. I have nothing to watch tuesdays at eight anyway. What are your thoughts on the show?

Weight issues: We know a little something about them

This is the place to discuss weight issues as they pertain to the show. For example, if someone says she's 120 pounds heavier since having two babies, and you think that's not possible, discuss that here. Feel free to add your own input and experiences, but it shouldn't become a thread that's JUST about posters' weight experiences.

In other words, like every other place on this site (save the Meet Markets), it should relate to the show.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – May 7, 2009 – The winner of NBC's hit series "The Biggest Loser: Couples" will be revealed in an exciting, three-hour live finale on Tuesday, May 12 (8-11 p.m. ET). In the first part of the show, the third finalist – as determined by America's vote – will also be revealed. And America will get a chance to choose one of the new contestants for the next season of "The Biggest Loser."

For the season seven finale, all 22 contestants return for a special reunion and a chance to weigh in one last time – and to show America how much weight they've lost since the beginning of their weight-loss journeys. The transformations will be profound, not just for the finalists, but also for the eliminated contestants who all continued to lose weight after they left the "Biggest Loser" ranch and returned home.

In the most recent episode, which aired May 5, Tara Costa (New York, N.Y.) and Helen Phillips (Sterling Heights, Mich.) weighed in above the yellow line, securing their spots as two of the three finalists. Ron Morelli (South Lyon, Mich.) and his son, Mike, both fell below the yellow line, leaving viewers to choose between father and son to determine the third place finalist competing for the grand prize of $250,000. America's choice will be revealed in the first part of the finale on May 12, and the contestant who didn't get chosen will compete with the other 18 eliminated players for an "at home" prize of $100,000. Viewers voted by phone and online and the voting window is now over.

America will also get to select a contestant to compete on the next season of "The Biggest Loser," which will premiere in September. Viewers can choose between two potential contestants by casting their votes by phone and online at www.nbc.com, and the winner will be announced near the end of the live finale.

Then it's the moment viewers have been waiting for, when one of the three finalists will be named this season's "Biggest Loser" and win the coveted grand prize of $250,000!

I was listening to Philly's Q102 this morning. One of the contestants, Nicole, was a DJ there. She is home- not sure if they are still filming so I will spoiler this part. She said she is "almost" at goal weight but would not say her weight, how much she lost. They just said she looks fantastic.

She sounded normal on the radio, not sure if she will be batshit crazy on the show. She confirrmed that there were days where they exercised for up to 8 hours a day.

The other DJ on there, Booker, said he is good friends with Poppy and she is really cool.
